George's Fish and Chip Kitchen Review

Hello everyone, as you may have guessed from the title, I have a review for you today, but it's probably not your typical review in that it's a review of a restaurant rather than a book or beauty product review.

If you ever find yourself in Nottingham City Centre, I 100% recommend going to George's Fish and Chip Kitchen (unless you don't eat fish as your choice would be quite limited). This restaurant opened very recently and I'd not heard much about it and didn't know where it was but today, I was passing the street it was on whilst we were deciding where to have dinner and it looked really nice so we headed on in. I have never been so amazed and happy with a restaurant; everything about it was perfect. If you've ever had George's fish and chips you'll know how amazing they are and this restaurant was even better.

The design was excellent, and it had a sea theme running all through out which made it look both welcoming and elegant. The whole of the restaurant fit in with the theme, from the menus (the actual menu not the food), the food, the seating, the walls and even the toilets, which may sound strange to comment on but the toilets were so nice and I hate it when restaurants have rubbishy toilets.

We also had the loveliest waitress who was really friendly and helpful. She also seemed like she enjoyed being there and wanted us to have a good time which definitely helped make the experience a good one. The service was also very quick even though the restaurant was fairly busy.

I went for the traditional cod in batter with chips and mushy peas, and my mum had the same but had a chip medley of sweet potato, parsnip and beetroot instead of regular potato chips, which I tasted and they were delicious! The fish was skinless and boneless, just how I like it, and the mushy peas came in a cute little jar, while the chips came on a spade-like utensil. It all tasted incredible!

After deciding not to have a dessert, I soon changed my mind when I saw the menu which had some amazing things including 'hot nutella and banana sandwich', yep that's a thing! But I decided to go for the 'rhubarb whip' served with 100s and 1000s, a flake and candyfloss and it looks almost as it good as it tasted. (see below), it had rhubarb in the bottom, then a layer of custard (which I don't normally like cold but in this I loved it), topped with a foamy rhubarb cream and 100s and 1000s. Oh- and the candyfloss was great too.

Unfortunately this was the only picture I took as I was too busy enjoying and getting excited by the meal and I didn't think to do a blog post on it until the dessert, when I knew I needed to share my experience.

I never thought I would write a blog post fangirling about a restaurant but here we are! I hope you enjoyed reading it and if you have any restaurants you recommend, let me know in the comments.

Love, Steph x
