July Favourites 2015

Welcome to another Monthly Favourites post :) This month you will see a number of products, particularly beauty related, which have been featured in a blog post over the past month or so, whether it's from my June Favourites (here) or my Summer Essentials 2015 (here), however there are also a few new items on there for you to feast your eyes upon. So without further ado, here is my July Favourites 2015...

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush- I have been wanting to try a Real Techniques brush for ages now and despite hearing countless good reviews of the product, I never expected it to be as good as it is. I bought the expert face brush which is great for both concealer and foundation, and could even be useful for powder if you were travelling and were low on space. It makes my make up glide onto my skin a lot easier, giving a smoother finish. It also allows me to build up my base so that it can be as thin or thick as I like, depending on the condition of my skin and what I'm doing that day. I will definitely be purchasing some other Real Techniques brushes in the future.

Maybelline Brow Satin Eyebrow Pencil- As I'm sure you'll know by now, I am a huge fan of this product, it makes my eyebrows look so much better than anything else I've tried, which then makes my whole make up look look a lot better. It's the right shade for my skin tone and hair colour, it's easy to shape and define my brows, and can be built up for a heavier make up look.

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Superstar Mascara- Again, I'm sure you'll know how much I love this product, it is by fair my favourite mascara to use, making my lashes look so much longer, fuller and more volumised than any other I've tried. For a more detailed review, you can click here.

Collection Long Lasting Perfection- Another product I have mentioned before, this concealer is perfect for what I want, it brightens up my under eyes, it has a fairly high coverage without being too thick or heavy, it lasts a long time, and it's easy to apply.

Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Primer- This eye primer has been so useful the past month for making my eyeshadow last a lot longer and look more pigmented. It has been particularly useful in the hot weather, which if you live in England, you'll know soon disappeared. I never realised how much difference a primer made to make up until trying this and I can definitely see the issues when I don't put it on now.

Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette- As I mentioned in my Summer Essentials 2015 post, I love this eyeshadow palette and have particularly loved the shades Strike, Radar and Ambush, which have been perfect for creating a gold eyeshadow look which a number of people have told me they liked.

5 Seconds of Summer- Like last month, I have really been loving 5 Seconds of Summer and have been listening to them so much this past month. I've also enjoyed watching interviews with them and have just generally been loving the band and the music.

She's Kinda Hot by 5 Seconds of Summer- The latest single to be released by the band is amazing; when I heard it for the first time, I was a little unsure but by the second, third, twentieth play and so on, I loved it. The music itself (guitars, drums etc) are so good and make the song stand out from some of the other popular songs at the moment. The vocals are brilliant; I particularly like the comments made throughout the song- they're just an itty bitty little bit hot!

Flashlight- I couldn't not put this song in my favourites again, I've loved this song as much this month as the previous month. It's a song that I cannot resist singing along to whenever it comes on.

Pitch Perfect 2 Soundtrack- I love pretty much all of the songs on this soundtrack and find them particularly great for Summer. If you haven't heard any of them yet or seen the film I recommend giving the songs a listen.

Pretty Little Liars- We're just less than two weeks away from coming face to face with A, and I for one can't wait. Season 6 has been incredible; a lot darker and more tense than the previous seasons, and I love it... However as much as I want to know who A is, I also don't as I enjoy trying to work things out and complete the puzzle that is Rosewood.

Life With a Sprinkle of Glitter- I really loved this book; it is quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing book I have come across, the writing style is brilliant and it truly made me laugh out loud countless number of times, If you're interested in finding out what else I enjoyed about the book, you can find me review here.

Primark- Primark is a shop I find has either nothing I like or has everything I like and for the past couple of months, it has been the latter; so many of my purchases recently have been from that shop and I am so happy with all of them, so I couldn't miss Primark out of my monthly favourites!

22 Jump Street- This film has got to be one of my all time favourites; it's hilarious. I liked the first film but the second film just blows the other one out of the water, it is one of the funniest films I've ever seen and I could watch it over and over again. I also love the actors in it and I think the jokes and comments they come up with are brilliant. I have seen this film many times before but after watching it again this month, I had to make it one of my favourites.

Gabby 'Honesty' Video- This is a video I recommend everyone watches, whether you're a fan of Gabby or not, and if you are one of the people that sends Gabby hate, I definitely advise you to watch it. It made me so proud of Gabby to see her be so open with her viewers and explain some of the things people have been questioning her about. I love Gabby and also get so annoyed by the amount of unnecessary hate she gets as nobody deserves it, and it's usually over the stupidest of things! I really hope people see this video and think a little bit more before they send Gabby or anyone else for that matter hate, it really shows that you don't know what someone else's life is like and how they are affected by the things you say. If you are one of those people, please think a little bit more about what you are saying to someone and how that is going to affect them, if you think it will have a negative affect then just don't say it.

Runa- Runa is one of my best friends and is more like a sister to me than a friend, but she lives in Germany which means I only get to see her maybe once a year, However, she is staying with me at the moment and the past week or so that she's been here has been amazing; there have been so many funny moments and some amazing memories created that I hope to always remember.

Nippon- An unfortunate name I know, but these are delicious. Runa bought them over from Germany for me because she knows how much I love them; they are similar to rice crispies covered in chocolate and have a similar texture to popcorn. If you ever get the chance to try one I recommend, it.

That completes my July Favourites, I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know some of your favourites in the comments below and I'll be sure to check them out.

The Book Tag

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Not really but I tend to read in bed before I go to sleep so I guess that's my 'certain place'. I do also like to read outside in the sun, especially if you're on holiday, and you can lie by the pool reading a good book.

2. Bookmark or a random piece of paper?

I try to use a bookmark whenever possible but if I'm out and haven't got one with me or they are all in use then I'll just use whatever I can find, although that's usually temporary before I have access to a bookmark again.

3. Can you stop reading anytime or does it have to be at a certain page, chapter, part etc...?

If I'm reading before bed and I'm so tired that I can barely keep my eyes open any longer then I can stop wherever I am but generally, I try to end at the end of a chapter.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

I don't usually eat whilst reading but sometimes I do have a drink.

5. Can you read whilst listening to music or watching TV?

Not really, I could whilst listening to music sometimes like if I'm somewhere quite loud as it helps me to shut people out originally but if I'm on my own or I'm somewhere quiet, I much prefer to just read. I definitely can't watch TV and read, if I'm reading a good book, I want to concentrate purely on that.

6. One book at a time, or several at once?

Usually I'll read one book at a time, unless I struggle to get into one and want a break before trying again. I also sometimes have a fiction book on the go and a non fiction book which I pick up and read every so often- usually more long term than novels.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere but I prefer to read at home and mostly just read at home- if I'm out, I'm usually busy. Also, if I'm out, I often read on my phone instead of reading a paperback as it's easier to carry and easier to have around with you.

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently in my head, although with the 5SOS book, I started reading out loud so I could read in an Australian accent (haha) but after a couple of chapters I went back to reading in my head- much better and easier.

9. Do you read ahead or skip pages?

Not if I can help it but sometimes my eyes just draw to something further on. I hate it when I accidentally see something on the next page which gives away what is going to happen.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

I try to keep it new for as long as possible but when it starts to become a pain to read or more annoying, I'll break the spine.

11. Do you write in books?

No, if there's a passage I like, I'll fold over the page and then I can refer back to it and make notes on a separate piece of paper if I really want to, but this is very rare.

Thank you for reading this post. If you have any book recommendations, let me know as I'm always happy to discover a new book or author.

Happy Box DIY

Today's post is a little different to anything I've done before as it's more of a DIY style post, where I show you how I made and how you, if you'd like to, could make a Happy Box. I mentioned this in my 'Summer Essentials' post (here) as it's something I think is perfect for yourself to keep memories and nice messages, or for somebody else as a nice gift. I actually made two, one for myself and one for one of my best friends.

What You Will Need:
  • A plain or patterned box or jar (whichever you think is best for you, I opted for a box)
  • Plain card or 'business cards' card
  • Scissors
  • Coloured Pens
  • Ribbon
  • Photographs
  • Anything that makes you happy

Step One: Choose a box or jar that you'd like to use, if it's a plain box, you can decorate however you'd like. Some suggestions would be to use wrapping paper or patterned paper, stickers and embellishments, drawing whatever you like over it or getting people to write little messages on the box itself. I chose to buy a patterned box which says 'Create your own happiness' on both sides of the lid, so I felt it was very appropriate.

Step Two: Cut the card into smallish pieces (whatever size you'd like each note to be). Alternatively, if you buy some 'business cards' card like I did, you can skip this step as its easier to draw your design first before tearing it into the different sections. If you can get your hands on some 'business cards' card, I recommend doing so as it is so much easier, neater and more accurate than cutting regular card.

Step Three: This is where you can start to get creative and make your notelets individual to you. Use felt tips, pencil crayons, ribbon... whatever you like basically to create a design on each card (or you can skip this step and leave it plan but then it could be seen as less personal to you). If you want some inspiration of designs you could do, check out the ones I did below; I created 8 different designs and put 5 of each in both my friend's and my own box. They're all very simple and easy designs to do but I felt like they went nicely with my box and would make me smile- I am definitely not an artist though.

Step Four: If you used regular card, you can skip this step. If you used 'business cards' card then this is the time where you can tear along the tear lines to separate each notelet (I found it easier to fold both ways along the lines first which prevented me from ripping the card where I didn't want it ripping). Your cards are now ready to write on.

Step Five: Add any messages or memories to your cards and place them in the box. You may want a separate place for your blank cards (or you can place them in the box as well), and you could ask friends or family to leave you little messages when they come round, in order to make you smile. There are a couple of examples of messages I wrote for my friend, just after step three.

Step Six: Add anything else to your box that will make you happy, this could be photographs, souvenirs, ribbons.. whatever you want to include; it's your box so make it personal to you.

Step Seven: If your box is for someone else (or this could apply if you want to add it to your own box), make your own 'instructions' note to stick on the top. Mine reads; 'Fill this box with happy thoughts, from yourself or from your friends, to cheer you up when you are down for love that never ends'. I wrote this on a little post-it-note which I stuck to the inside lid of the box.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this different style blog post, let me know what you think in the comments.

I hope you have a great weekend.

'Who's Most Likely To' Part Two

Not my usual upload day but as I mentioned yesterday, I wanted to split up this tag but I didn't want a week between the two, so you have an extra post from me this week! Anyway, it's all the same as yesterday, just the second half, so if you haven't read that yet, you can check it out here. Again, there's a lot of sarcasm and joking in here so please don't take it all literally.

When George is speaking/answering
When Steph is speaking/answering
When both of us are answering

21. live in a different country?
George // Steph
I don't think I would, I'd love to travel and see all the different places but I don't think I'd like to live anywhere else.
I think I might change my answer to me just because I think I'd prefer to stay in England but I think I'd be more likely to move, just for a short while.
Yeah but to where?
I don't know, well I love languages so I'd want to move somewhere for a bit or live somewhere for a bit so I could do that. I'd also like to learn Spanish and/or German so I'd do it for that.
No, I don't like change, I don't think I could get used to a different country. I mean there's all different things; a different currency, different food, different houses... it's just too much change.

22. lose their purse or ID at a club?
You're very clumsy...
But I don't lose things that much do I?
No but you're the first one to get the ID, so there's more chance of you losing it than me who hasn't got one.
And I did lose my sQuid card [a payment card for our college].
That is true.
So it is possible. I'll drop, it will disappear and I won't be allowed in the club ever again!
Where did that go? You'll drop it at and at waist height it will just vanish.

23. survive in The Hunger Games?
I'd say you because I think I'm more likely to do something stupid... I'd probably be the one to eat poisonous berries.
I was thinking that you're a lot taller, you're really tall so you're more likely to get seen, especially with that bleached hair right now!
Not bleached hair, thank you very much! I think I'm more likely to trip over into someone's sword or something.
And as we decided earlier, you're more of a diva!
We didn't decide that earlier, you decided that earlier, I disagreed... and what's a diva got to do with The Hunger Games?
Because if you're a diva, you're not going to want to camp out are you, you're going to want that fire that kills you.
I don't like fire!
You're going to want that medicine at the banquet that kills you.
Well I am if I'm dying!

24. cry in public?
Neither of us!
I don't know.
Okay, I know mine.
I picked you because I remember one time when you were close to tears when we went to go and see Union J at Boots.
I wasn't though, that's the whole point.
You were closer to tears than me though lets face it!
Obviously! I was closer to hyperventilating, not to tears!
Oh and scary movies! You cry!
That's why I would say it, if it's in terms of crying through sadness, I don't cry in front of people usually if I can help it but I cry with laughter a hell of a lot, I cry when I'm happy sometimes, I cry if I'm scared- if someone is telling me a scary story, I will cry, even though I love hearing them! I cry for everything, I cry at films... if we're watching something in the cinema, I will cry more.
That is true... I did not cry at The Fault in Our Stars.
Which is wrong!

25. laugh at the wrong moment?
You were laughing in a cupboard one time when you'd been told to cool off.
I wasn't told to cool off, I was asked if I wanted to take a moment.
Exactly! And then you went and laughed at yourself in the cupboard.
Well I was laughing at myself but it was partially your fault along, cause I looked around the circle and all of you looked so serious and then when I caught someone's eye, I can't remember who, I just burst out laughing!
Then you fell off your chair.
Well I fell off my chair first which is what caused the laughter.
I fell off my chair three times that evening, that's why I was laughing!
And with you, it's not even like a subtle laugh, you burst, it's loud.
Whenever I'm sad or nervous or anything, I'll laugh, my auntie's the same, whenever that happens, I just giggle... I get the giggles.

26. be impatient?
I am really impatient.
Yeah you can be. See I think I'm fairly patient most of the time but when I do get impatient, I'm not very subtle about it.
I don't think I'm very patient, I try to pretend to be but it doesn't always work out.

27. talk to animals?
I think this is going to be my talent!
Yeah, I'm basing it on the fact that you want to be a vet.
I'm going to be a horse and dog and cat and bunny whisperer.
Very specific, you could have just said animals.
No, actually yes because I want to be able to talk to elephants as well.

28. be a drama queen?
George // Steph
No! I'm trying to think of an example.
Go on then.
Well you think of one as well then!
I don't need an example.
Yes you do, I am not a drama queen!
I think yesterday is an example cause we got home and...
It scared me!
Yes I know but you scared everyone else and it was a but dramatic! We got home and Steph thought this black thing on the floor was a sock so she was about to kick it and it moved and you have never heard as loud a scream as that, and that started me screaming and then her mum who wasn't even through the door yet started screaming and everybody was running rampage and this little mole, which is what it was, this little mole was terrified!
It made me jump.
It was an over reaction.
I guess I can over react sometimes but I'm sure you can too and I think you do it more.
No I don't, name one time for me then.
I don't want to.

29. spend all of their money on something stupid?
It depends what it means by stupid because I mean, I would say Steph because of all her concert tickets.
They are NOT stupid!
I personally think they're a little bit of a waste of money.
I don't, I think they're the best thing you can spend money on.
I don't.
But, I do think it would be me, only because I do buy things without thinking sometimes... or I think and I'm like 'yeah I'll use it' and I don't and I probably waste money.
I like saving.
I like spending, I mean I like saving too but I prefer to spend it.

30. marry a celebrity?
Wishful thinking this is.
If your author career pays off then you're more likely to know one than me.
That's true but I could always invite you along and you could meet one.
True and because of my natural flirting side, it would definitely work.

31. remember all of the words to a TV show theme song?
I wish I was as good at remembering everything as I am at remembering song lyrics and stuff like that. Plus, I get hooked on TV shows quickly. I am a very obsessive person.
You are obsessive. I just get bored of watching the same thing more than a couple of times in a row.
I don't, I obsess over everything though.
You don't obsess over big brother though do you?
No, if I like something.
You did enjoy it!
Even the gym, like at the moment I'm obsessing over that.
You are obsessing over the gym, I don't understand why.
I don't know, it's just than when I like it I will obsess over it and do it excessively... music, as soon as I like a singer or a song, I will listen to it so many times.
And then it just goes bad.
Well, I dunno, when it's the actual band that I like, I obsess over it for ages... Union J I've liked since X Factor, I've obsessed over them since X Factor; that's three years of my life, well, almost three years of my life!
That's ridiculous. I think that is a waste of three years.
No it's not.
I think it is. What has being a fan of their achieved?
Happiness, it has brought me happiness.
How has it brought you happiness? I mean, always stressing whether you're going to get a ticket?
It's exciting though when you do and when you see them it's great. I can't even put it into words. I can feel my heart beating quicker already... I get too excited about things, okay?

32. do a bungee jump?
I love heights!
I don't, I get scared.
I've always wanted to do that!
Then again I do love Go Ape and stuff like that.
It's over water so even if it breaks, you're not going to die... you might do a bad face plant. So it's worth it.
Not necessarily.
I want to do a bungee jump in the Maldives.
Life Goals.

33. ask stupid questions?
Not a hard one really.
No, you sometimes need to think before you say stuff.
Well sometimes it's just the way I phrase things.

34. be a terrible driver?
I feel I may try to rush to try and catch up with Steph who is already driving and as I haven't even sat in the driver side of the car yet.
Yeah, I'm only going for you cause I don't think you will but I'm hoping I'm not cause I passed my test and if I am a terrible driver then I really shouldn't have passed my test.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, requests or comments, let me know!

'Who's Most Likely To' Part One

Today's 'Tag Tuesday' post features my best friend George again but this time we decided to do the 'Who's Most Likely To...' Tag. Like with the Best Friend Tag, it was difficult to do as a blog post but hopefully I've done it in an entertaining and not-too-confusing way. We did this tag the same day we did the Best Friend Tag so there are a couple of references here and there from that post; if you haven't read it yet and want to read it first, click here. I went for the same (transcript) style post with a different colour for each of us to easily distinguish between who says what.

I've split it into two parts and the second part will go up tomorrow, I only split it as it's quite long and I don't want to bore you with lots of writing in one go, so if you want to read the second half, come back tomorrow and give it a read! Just a disclaimer; there's a lot of joking and sarcasm in this tag which may not come across through writing, but please don't take everything literally. I hope you enjoy it!

When George is speaking/answering
When Steph is speaking/answering
When both of us are answering

Who is most likely to...

1. lose a winning lottery ticket?
Me obviously! But then to be fair, I'm probably never going to have a winning lottery ticket to lose!
Did it say winning?
That is true.
You're more likely to get a winning lottery ticket I reckon.
Cause you're luckier than me... but I am more likely to lose it.

2. not shower for a week?
Me but that is only because you shower twice a day.
Yeah, it's nothing against you, it's just my habits.

3. not pass up a bargain?
I think that's the poundland shopper right there.
Yeah. If anyone can get a bargain it's me!

4. be unable to keep quiet for short periods of time?
But it depends on whether it's when we're together or generally, like with my family I'm quiet.
Yeah, and I can just never shut up, but I think you are more likely to be like that than I am.

5. worry?
I am a big worrier.

6. stand up a disappointing blind date?
I don't know what I'm basing this on, I just think out of us two, it's more likely to be you.
Yeah. You're nicer!
I'd feel to bad!

7. be arrested?
I think I'm more likely to do something stupid by mistake.

8. be in a music video?
Only because I love music and I'd probably just walk into a music video set so I could be on there.

9. have a tough time saying no?
I don't know what I'm basing that on though.
No, if I really don't want to do something then I'll say it but if not then I'll probably just be like 'oh yeah, I don't mind' depending on who it's with or whatever.
Yeah, I think it depends on the circumstance on that one.

10. marry for money?
I'm basing this on the conversation we had before where you said money can't but happiness and I thought it could.
Me too.

11. be a game show host?
I don't know... I guess it's more linked to what I want to do but then I'd be terrible on screen! And I love game shows as well. Actually I'd be terrible because I hate watching it when they lose- I feel so bad for them!

12. resort to online dating?
I'm only saying this because I want to know what it's like, like what you have to do, but I don't actually want to online date.
I just didn't want it to be me so I picked you!
I wouldn't want to actually do the dating, I'd just like to see the profiles and how it all works.
What if you got some interest?
I don't know.
Would you have hard time saying no?

13. have an affair?
Why? This is so mean!
I don't know why I'm saying you.
You said one of my words could have been loyal earlier?
That is true! I just don't want it to be me and I don't think it would be me but I don't think it would be you either... I know, if someone comes along with more money you might... or if you married for money but didn't actually like them.
That could be true.

14. be a millionaire?
Cause you're gonna marry for money!
Stop it, I didn't say I was going to marry for money, I just said that money can sometimes buy happiness... I think me because I have what it takes! Plus I'm less likely to lose the winning lottery ticket!
That's true.

15. lie about their age?
This is just because I am almost a year younger so if I want to go out on her 18th, I would have to lie.
See, that's why you're more likely to be arrested!

16. consider having plastic surgery?
I don't know why, neither of us would!
Why did we both pick me?!?! I don't want it to be me so why did I put me?
I don't know.
I hate needles and stuff so I'd hate that.
But maybe you're more consumed by that sort of thing cause I've had nothing done whereas you've had highlights- you've changed the colour of your hair!
What and that means I'm more likely to have plastic surgery? Well I guess you don't want any tattoos and I'm more likely to want them.
Exactly, I don't want anything!
Okay, fair enough.

17. be on an advert?
I have a reason for each of us!
I don't.
I'm going on wishful thinking here cause it would mean I've been successful in making and selling my own product.
What would your product be?
A book or a magazine or something like that.
Yeah, I'm basing this on the idea that you're going to become a famous author and need to promote your new book.
If I was to say you, I was thinking it could be your ten minutes of fame as an actor!
Yes! There's the one.

18. go to Vegas and gamble away their mortgage for the month?
You because you like games and gambling too much!
I do, I love going to the slot machines. Guilty pleasure! And I do love that poker set I have.
And those coin games you play.
Oh, I do.
You're just getting used to it- you're building up!
Oh no... help me!

19. be unable to live without TV?
Only because I watch everything on my laptop.
Yeah I was thinking that.
Apart from friends and The Big Bang Theory, pretty much all of the series I watch on my laptop... you watch a lot more British series whereas watch more American series which are on Netflix or whatever.
You spend a lot more time listening to music or on your laptop whereas I watch TV.

20. help someone move?
I can't be bothered to do a lot of things and also, I sat through a course of psychology that talked about gradual commitment and that said, don't ever start unpacking boxes for somebody because you'll never stop.
But I quite like organising stuff.
But if you organise it, you might not do it in the way they want so they might reorganise it when you've gone and that would be annoying.
If they wanted help I wouldn't be able to say no... that's my issue!
Yes, that is your issue!
Although it does depend.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about George, myself and our friendship. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for part two and give that a read! I'd definitely recommend doing this tag either for a video, a post or just for fun as it was really fun to do! If you have any questions, requests or comments, let me know!

Summer Essentials 2015

Today I thought I'd do a 'must have' list for Summer, including a range of products which I think are essential for me this Summer.

Beauty and Fashion

Gradual Tanning Moisturiser- I've never been interested in fake tanning but as I'm naturally very fair skinned, and don't tan easily, I decided to give a gradual tanning moisturiser a go to see how easy, practical and effective it was to use on my skin. I originally bought the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Natural Bronze Body Lotion (which you can find here), I was very impressed with the application and effect (even though I didn't read the instructions and had a bit of 'miscoloured hands' issue when I first started to use it), it smells lovely, not much different from any other cocoa butters, it feels great putting it on, leaves your skin feeling silky soft and looking golden. I had a number of compliments on my tan when using this product and have been really impressed with it. However, it is running out and when I went to replace it I discovered the Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion Fair to Medium Skin (which you can find here) which was half the price of the Palmer's one so I decided to pick that up; so far I'm very impressed with it, it smells great but a lot more subtle when you apply it, it feels a bit more lightweight after application and it feels great on your skin. I can't yet comment on how well it tans as it is a gradual tanner and as I've only used it twice, it's not yet had an effect.

Maybelline Brow Satin Eyebrow Pencil- This is my favourite brow product, I am in love with it! It is so easy to apply, it fills in my brows nicely, shapes and defines them well and just generally makes my eyebrows look so much better! I am running very low on this and can't afford to replace it just yet so I'm saving it for when I really need my brows to be in the best condition as I really dislike using my other brow products now I've seen the effect of this. It's definitely a product I need to repurchase ASAP. (You can find it here)

Collection Long Lasting Perfection Concealer- I only recently started using this product despite having heard amazing reviews for a long time but I am now hooked, it is an incredible concealer- has a great coverage, is easy to apply, brightens up your under-eyes and is, as it suggests, long lasting. I've also found it great for the hotter weather when I need some coverage on my skin but I don't want to wear foundation or BB cream which just melts off of my face. I will definitely be repurchasing this again and again. (Available here)

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Superstar Mascara- This is another make up product addiction of mine! Since purchasing this in May, I have been obsessed with it, I use it pretty much everyday (unless I'm not doing a full make up look) and I still love it, it makes my lashes fuller, more volumised, longer and just generally a lot nicer, which definitely helps to open up and enhance my eyes. If you want a more detailed review of this product, you can check it out here, or to purchase it, you can click here.

Urban Decay Vice 2- I have had and been using this eyeshadow palette for a couple of years now and my love for it just seems to grow. For Summer, I have been loving doing a gold eyeshadow look using the shades Strike, Radar and Ambush, but for a more natural look I go for Dope and Toxic. I love the quality of this palette; the eyeshadows are well pigmented, they don't fade or smudge too much through out the day and they look amazing. Definitely a summer must have for me.

Oh La La Perfume- I bought this back in April on my holiday (post available here), and I just find that this scent is a perfect summer scent for me; it's fresh, fruity, sweet and floral but a nice balance between them all and whenever I spray it, it just reminds me of Summer weather and can't help but boost my mood, even if just for a moment.

Ted Baker Butterfly Shower Gel- I got this for Christmas but I haven't really used it since as I've had others open but I've used products in this range before and love this scent, which is a scent I feel is great for Summer. This is another scent I'd describe as quite floral and sweet but not overpoweringly so.

Sunglasses- This year I have been loving so many different pairs of sunglasses and own a couple which I always look forward to whipping out when the suns out, although I can't always wear them as I sometimes wear glasses but as I don't need them all the time, I don't have contacts, hence, I can't wear glasses and sunglasses.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer- I don't normally use a primer, in fact, until trying this eyeshadow primer, I've never tried using one- bad habits I know and I do plan on trying one when I can next afford to get one (let me know if you have any recommendations!) I bought this for £1.50 I believe, in a clearance sale at Tesco and it has really made a difference to how long my eyeshadow lasts, which has been particularly useful in the heat when my make up tends to melt off a lot quicker!

David Lloyd Gym- I'm sure you've seen me mention this by now but at the moment, I am loving going to the gym, not always the workout itself, but the feeling afterwards and knowing you've accomplished something which is going to help your body. If possible, I want to try and start going more regularly again to get it back up to 3 or 4 times a week as I currently go 2 or 3 times but it depends on how much time I have, what I'm doing and so on.

Watermelon- Anyone who knows me, knows just how much I love watermelon and it's particularly great through out Summer, so I couldn't make a post on Summer essentials without throwing this in. *Sidenote* I had the nicest, juiciest, sweetest, most delicious watermelon the other day, (it was also huge), which we bought from Makro, so if you ever find yourself there, I'd definitely recommend checking out the watermelons.

Sparkling Water- As I mentioned in my Contemplating Body Image post (here), I'm reducing the amount of sugar I eat and drink as part of becoming healthier, there are so many drinks that have a lot of sugar in (or sweeteners which I'm also trying to avoid as much as possible), so I'm trying to make healthier drink choices. I am a big water drinker, I drink so much of it, but sometimes I fancy something a bit more interesting and rather than go for a sugary drink, I've been opting for sparkling water instead which just makes a change to water but is still not full of additives and all that jazz. I think sparkling water is a great drink for keeping hydrated and fresh during the Summer months.

Fujifilm Polaroid Camera- I was given one of these by some of friends for my last birthday and I think it's going to be perfect for capturing moments and memories through out the summer in a really fun and interesting way, I'm looking forward to spending time with family and friends and hopefully capture some of these moments in polaroid form!

DSLR Camera- Similar to the Polaroid camera, I will be taking my DSLR camera wherever I can, to photograph some of the fun and exciting things I will (hopefully) do over Summer, some of these I will then be able to share with you here on my blog. :)

Happy Box- I won't talk about this for too long as I have a separate post on this coming very soon but I wanted to create a 'Happy Box' for myself in order to keep any memories and notes that will help make me happy on down days or just so I can remember some of the good memories I have.

Looking For Alaska- This has got to be my Summer book, (at least at the top of my list as I will hopefully read a lot more than just that) as I really want to read it, I have it ready to read but at the moment I either haven't had the time or have been reading other books such as Life With a Sprinkle of Glitter (review here).

Pretty Little Liars- Although there are only a couple of episodes left in the first half of season 6 and before we find out who A is (so excited for that!!! Anyone else a PLL fan and want to share this enthusiasm with me?), but I want to include this in a Summer essentials post anyway as I will probably end up rewatching the series once we found out who A is, to see if I can see any clues that I missed before.

Summer Playlist- Having a Summer playlist is a must for me it's great to be able to enjoy the season, whatever you do, with music that you feel enhances the experience. For this, I created a 'Summer Vibes *sun emoji*' playlist which I think will be perfect throughout the Summer, when I'm on my own, if I'm on holiday or if I have some friends round for a BBQ, whatever I do, I feel like this playlist has a great feel to it, which will help make the day even better.

Thanks for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know any products or anything really that you think are Summer-must-haves.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Love, Steph x

60 Specific Questions

1. Do you sleep with your wardrobe doors open or closed?
Always closed, I can't stand them open.
2. Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Yes, I love doing that but I don't know why- I think I just love free stuff and mini stuff so seeing as this combines the two, why not take it?

8. Have you ever been camping?
Yes, a couple of times. Funny story for you, I went camping once with my family and some family friends, it was the first (and last) time we had been camping so we didn't have a tent and borrowed one from my uncle. My parents put up the tent and everything was good, I was staying in our family friend's tent with my friend and her brother stayed in our tent with my brother. Unfortunately, it rained a lot that night and my family and friend's brother woke up soaking and practically floating on puddles, meanwhile, we slept really well. In the morning the tent was sodden, they were all miserable, and my parents refused to spend another night there so we packed up our stuff and headed home (after many tears from myself). It turns out they'd put the tent up inside out! That was the last time my parents ever went camping. Since then, I have been with one of my friends and her family and several times as part of Guides; nothing quite so extreme happened during any of my other camping trips and there are quite a few funny and good memories I have from them.

Life With A Sprinkle Of Glitter Review

Here I am again writing another book review; it seems to have become a common feature on this blog! Only this time, I'm here with a slightly different book, not the usual fiction novels I tend to review.

I have just finished reading Life With A Sprinkle Of Glitter by Louise Pentland, a little less than a week after purchase, and I am more than pleased with my read, after it has left me feeling both inspired and entertained. This is why I couldn't wait to write and upload my review even though I uploaded yesterday- bonus blog post this week!

This little gem is filled with wise-words, beautifully designed pages and a positive aura which certainly does fill your mind and life with a sprinkle of glitter!

I have been watching Louise's videos for a couple of years now and more recently started reading her blog posts on a regular basis. She has a personality that I admire; her bubbly nature helps spread joy to her viewers and to those around her (at least that's what it looks like); her stories and comments never fail to make me laugh; and she has such a kind and warming heart that shows that although she hasn't had the perfect life (has anyone really?) she's been able to pull herself through any negativity and difficult times, which have only made her a stronger person. Keeping all of this in mind, I was thrilled to hear that she was bringing out a book, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Having said that, I never expected it to be as amazing as it was! (it wasn't that I had low expectations originally, it was just that the book blew all of those expectations out of the water).

Where to begin...?

I know they say not to judge a book by it's cover, but when a cover looks that good, how can you not just want to engulf yourself in it and want to explore the beauty encompassed within the pages? I particularly love the 'sprinkle of glitter' which adds texture and general pizzazz to the page. I am also very pleased with the pink colour scheme- a definite plus!

Another simple but important thing to mention that I like is the style (is that the right word?). I am a paperback fan under normal circumstances, simply because I find hardbacks much more difficult to hold and read or to carry around. However, the size of this book made it much more practical and efficient, and made me really enjoy reading a hardback, which is a rarity. I also think it makes it look really cute.

The pages within the book are something else...  I can honestly say, I don't think I've ever come across such an aesthetically pleasing book- each page has it's own unique design which ties in nicely with the subject of the page. There was obviously a lot of thought and care gone into the design and it has really paid off. I also love the little doodles as I think they add a lot of character to the book.

Now we've covered the design and appearance, I would like to take a moment to appreciate the main feature of the book, the written content. As I mentioned above, I love Louise's style- her comments, her thoughts, her sense of humour etcetera etcetera, and this book is full of those things- it is very Louise. Some books I've read, haven't really captured the author's sense of personality and so haven't (to me) seemed personal to them- it could have been written by anyone, even though it includes their own opinions, thoughts and stories. For me, reading Life With a Sprinkle of Glitter, I could have had Louise sat next to me reading it all to me- her book is so personal to her that there is no way it could belong to anyone else.

It's unusual that I can find a book which truly makes me laugh out loud but this book had me doing so through the majority of chapters and through many of the pages, particularly at the beginning. If anyone found me reading this book they, would either by disturbed or intrigued by the amount I was smiling at simply a few words on a page- but they meant so much more to me than that and really helped both comfort and amuse me.

I would love to be able to recommend particular chapters for you to read but I can't... I can't pick out a couple of chapters I liked more than others; I loved them all for very different reasons and have preferences dependent on my mood and interest at the time. What I can say however, is that this is a beautifully written and designed book that I could see appealing to a variety of ages and people. I can't recommend this enough, whether you are looking for advice, looking for a laugh or just want to read a good book, I 100% recommend you give this a read and I'm pretty darn sure you won't be disappointed.

If any of you have read this book, let me know your thoughts in the comments, if you have any questions about it let me know, or if you have any book recommendations, I'd love to check them out.

Thank you for reading this post. I hope you have a great weekend.
