April Favourites 2016

It's that time again and this month I have a number of favourites to share with you, most of which feature in the Entertainment section, but before I start with my favourites, I just want to welcome you to my new blog design, hopefully you like it as much as I do.

Jane The Virgin- I am in love with this TV show. I do not think the adverts do it justice at all as I'd always thought it looked cheesy, stupid and just awful but after it appeared on Netflix and one of my friends commented on how good it was, I decided to give it a try. It combines so many different things: comedy, drama, mystery and romance and it works which is more than can be said for a lot of shows and movies. I love Jane's character and really love her style but even though some characters are extremely irritating, I really like watching them all (or 95% of them). If you haven't seen this show before, I highly recommend you give the first couple of episodes a watch! The first season is on Netflix at the moment and the second series is currently being aired on E4 in the UK with the first couple of episodes available on All 4.
Dear Victor- One of my friends is the lead singer in this band and although they are very new, they seem to have a decent following, which I'm not surprised about as the tracks are well written and the whole performance when they sing live is brilliant. They don't yet have a YouTube channel or Soundcloud account as far as I'm aware but a snippet of one of their live perfomances of Debonair can be viewed here.
No Warning  by Jessarae- I have really loved listening to this song since I heard Jessarae perform it at Sounds Live Feels Live. I love his raspy tone and the catchiness of the song.
Headwreck- This month I went to see my brother in the original production, 'Headwreck' which I loved; I thought it was highly entertaining, very funny and the cast was incredible.
Felix M-B- After seeing 'Headwreck', I was informed by my brother that the song I really liked and thought was very well sang and played, was an original by Felix M-B (one of the cast members) so naturally, I had a listen to some of his other stuff and was really impressed! I wouldn't say it's the style of music I typically love but there's something I really like about his songs and voice. There are a couple of songs I enjoy in particular; Wasted One, For The Light and Ophelia (acoustic and studio version). I definitely recommend you give his songs a listen (here), particularly if you enjoy music by more indie/nu-folk singer-songwriters.
Jenna Marbles Unpopular Opinions- It's been a while since I've included a YouTube video or channel in my favourites but I felt this needed a space as it amused me A LOT! I find a lot of Jenna's videos really funny and a lot of that is down to the way she says things as much as what she actually says. I thought the concept of this video was entertaining but the execution of it was even funnier!
Louise Pentland and Dan Howell Our Awkward Fancy Meal- Louise and Dan are two of my all time favourite YouTubers and together they are even more entertaining. I love hearing about their awkward encounters; it makes me feel better about the awkward and embarrassing things I do! This video is longer than your average main channel video which I love, especially in a video of this style.

Beauty and Fashion

New Look Oversized Knitted Cardigan- I featured this item in my Lookbook and wore it a lot on my holiday as it is so easy to wear, is warm enough but not too warm and it just finishes off an outfit. I think this will become a staple in my Spring/Summer wardrobe this year.
Dior Poison Girl- This is an odd one for me to include in my favourites this month as I don't actually own it but I used a sample that I received in a magazine and loved the smell. It's definitely a fragrance I would love to get my hands on in the near future.

Sounds Live Feels Live- I had a wonderful evening watching 5 Seconds Of Summer perform! If you want to hear more about this, you can find my blog post here.
Mallorca- This month, I also got to spend a week's holiday with my best friend and her family in Mallorca which I also did a separate post on here. We did some great things, most of which involved relaxing, swimming, eating delicious meals and admiring the beautiful views!

Dairy Milk Medley (with caramelised hazelnuts, dark chocolate chips and raspberry pieces)- This is a new chocolate bar by Cadbury and all I can say is it is delicious! I love raspberry with chocolate and love a nutty bar so this is perfect. I like the smooth, creamy texture of the chocolate as well. Highly recommend!

A Trip To Mallorca

I was fortunate enough to spend the first week of April with my best friend and her family in one of their favourite places: Port de Pollenca, Mallorca. I had been to Mallorca before but only when I was a baby so it wasn't a place I could remember.

It was a lovely break with very pleasant weather 5 out of 7 days and not so nice weather the other 2, but it didn't matter. We stayed in a beautiful villa which had a heated pool allowing us to make the most of it even when it wasn't particularly hot out. I really enjoyed chilling by the pool, reading and swimming, going out for some amazing meals and coming back and playing games (I learnt to play Poker as well as a few other card games!), having a lot of giggles and exploring some stunning places!

Pollenca is a beautiful area so if you ever find yourself in that part of the island, I really recommend you visit it for yourself. Thank you so much for having me be a part of your family holiday; I had an awesome week!

Keeping Financially Fit

If you've ever read any of my (many) hauls and wish lists, you'll probably realise that I am very good at spending money. However, as a college student my money is pretty limited and when I head off to uni in September, it will be even more limited. That is why I decided to set myself goals and methods for monitoring and hopefully, reducing my expenses. Whilst it's definitely not an easy task, it's helping me to slowly improve my spending habits so that come September, I'll have an effective budgeting system. Here are the ways I have tried or am trying to improve my Financial Fitness this year:
  • I note the amount of money I have at the start of the month, a list of things I need to buy that month and the amount I have for extra things- I have a separate 'budgeting' notebook but I am also working on a Bullet Journal at the moment and have a section within that dedicated to budgeting too.
  • Believe it or not, over the past couple of months, I have tried to cut down on the amount of makeup I purchase by waiting until things run out and then deciding whether or not it is worth replacing. However, I failed this goal recently as I decided to treat myself to some Benefit products in duty free on the way back from Mallorca and actually end up overpaying for the makeup and regretting it quickly after. I tried to return the products to get a refund but had a few complications so ended up keeping them- oh well, I just need to make the most of them now and do my very best not to repeat this mistake in the future! You live and you learn.
  • Before purchasing something online, I add it to my basket and then give it a day or two, unless I need the product quickly or I know I want it and it's low on stock, to see if I still want to buy it. It helps me weed out a few unnecessary or unwanted purchases and save a few pounds. I have yet to apply this to products in store as I tend to either plan what I want before I go or get tempted by what I see... or a combination of the two.
  • Linking to the previous method; I make a list of the products I would like to buy and then I know what I'm looking for when I go shopping and I'm (slightly) less likely to impulse buy.
  • I try to limit my literary purchases by borrowing and swapping books with friends and reading the books I already own before purchasing new ones- but once again, it doesn't always work out!
  • Every so often I go through my purse, get rid of receipts and collect any 1ps, 2ps and 5ps to put in a money box. They are of a small enough value for me not to miss them but when saved, can add up to a fairly significant amount.
  • I also like to keep some money with me, separate from the rest of my money so I know I always have some cash in an emergency or minor emergency.
I hope this has given you a few ideas for smaller things you can do to improve your budgeting. Please let me know if you have any tips regarding 'Financial Fitness' as I can always use the help as I'm sure others can. If you want any information on finance management or about different credit cards, you can have a look at this website or watch some videos here.

Spring Accessories Wish List 2016

As I mentioned in my Spring Lookbook, I love Spring and Summer fashion, it makes me feel like I have more choice of what to wear; I think the styles in those seasons can often be more flattering on me or at least make me feel more confident in some of the things. Having said that, I often forget about accessories or end up pushing them to one side when it comes to fashion and I find myself much more likely to splash the cash on clothing. This season however, there a few things I have my eye on in the Spring accessory world and whilst a couple of them are rather pricey compared to what I would like to pay or would normally pay, I thought I'd include them in my wish list anyway and then I know the sort of styles I like and the sorts of things to keep my eye on in case I find a slightly cheaper alternative. All of the images were taken from the Spring website and I'll include a link to all of the products shown in the top image after each one below- the link is marked with an 'x'.

Cat Eye Sunglasses

If you've been to any store or seen anybody wearing sunglasses, the chances are you will have come across some in the cat eye style and the more I see them, the more I want a pair myself. I'm yet to try some on to see if they actually suit me but I really hope they do as they look really cute and really help to complete an outfit. x
Black Twist Scalf
I love a good twist scalf and this simple yet cute American Apparel one is no different. They're a useful hair accessory for adding to an outfit and making your hair look great with little effort. The bonus with getting a black one is it's ability to compliment any outfit. x
Grid Backpack
I love the more unique yet easy to wear design on this bag. The backpack style makes it useful for day to day wear but the cute appearance makes it stand out from a lot of bags out there. When it came to adding the link to this product, it had sold out but it may well be available again soon so if you are interested in it, you can keep an eye out here.
Pink Satchel
This satchel was too cute not to add to my list. Like backpacks, satchels are useful for a lot of activities and day to day needs but the pastel pink shade makes it that much prettier and more appealing! x
Round Cat Eye Sunglasses
Like the black cat eye sunglasses, I love the style of these. I thought these were a little bit different to a lot of sunglasses of the style out there and I love the gold and pink colours for sunglasses as well! x
Wireless Headphones
I would really love a pair of wireless headphones as I think they would be so useful for the gym so I don't need to worry about any wires getting in the way when I exercise but I also think they would be useful in a multitude of other situations as well. x
Black Braces (Suspenders)
These are definitely not something I would have expected myself to feature in my wish list but I'm really loving that style at the moment and think they would be really cute with a simple tee and shorts in the warmer months. x
Double Helix Gold Hoops
I have been loving gold hoops this year and have worn very little else. Therefore, I'd love to get my hands on some more, particularly some made of Gold which would wear better and last longer than my cheaper pair that I currently wear. x
Steel Bracelet Watch
I am a nightmare when it comes to watches as I have broken or lost so many of them, hence why I wouldn't get myself an expensive one however, this gorgeous Michael Kors watch really caught my eye and made me wish I was able to trust myself enough to splurge on a watch. x
Bluetooth Waterproof Shower Speaker
Not technically an outfit accessory but it would accessorize my shower... that counts right?! I love a good singalong in the shower and this would make that so much easier and better! x

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, what accessories are on your wish list this season?

P.S. I finally decided to create a Facebook page for my blog, so if Facebook is your preferred social media site, you can like the page here to see when I upload a new post.

Sounds Live Feels Live

I have mentioned my love for music, concerts and 5 Seconds Of Summer numerous times on my blog so it probably won't come as a shock to you to read my Day In The Life' (aka fangirling) about the Sounds Live Feels Live show I attended on Tuesday.

Last year I got to see the band perform their Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour and loved it however, I didn't have very good seats due to a complication... truth be told I still don't really know what happened but it has definitely made me check and double check tickets when booking them and receiving conformation, as well as made me book tickets straight through the arena.

When it came to buying the tickets for this year I was more than happy with the seats I managed to grab for myself and Jess and very much looked forward to a closer view of the band members.

I really enjoy concerts that have a theme and lots of visuals relating to this but what I really love about seeing 5SOS live is the more simple production (in the best way) which puts the focus purely on the music and the band by simply having amazing camera angles on the screen. Personally, I think it feels a bit more raw when the show doesn't have the gimmicks and stuff as well- however I love concerts which have the show feel too... they're both brilliant in different ways and achieve different things!

I love hearing all of their vocals live but I swear live instrumentals will be the death of me! It amazes me to see artists get really involved in the music and work wonders with the instrument they're playing. It also makes me want to learn to play the guitar (or drums) even more than I already do. I also love when Luke, Calum and Michael play each other's instruments which I don't really have an explanation for it's just really entertaining and amazing to watch.

Jessarae supported the band and although I'd not listened to any of his songs before so couldn't sing along, I loved watching him play the guitar and thought his songs and vocals were unique and brilliant. He has quite a raw, raspy tone which I really liked and I've since enjoyed listening to his songs, particularly No Warning, on Soundcloud.

T-Shirt: H&M
Shirt: Topshop
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Converse

Dress: Quiz
Leggings: New Look
Boots: Deichmann

Like I have done in the past, I've included a video with few of my personal highlights below which I'm sure I will watch many times in the future- I like having a little highlights video to look back on! Just to warn you, the video includes a lot of screaming, shouting and loud singing and whilst I'm sure I played a part in that noise, the majority of what you can hear in the background- particularly the shouting and singing is actually from the row behind who were very loud! (Not that there's a problem with that, if you can't be loud at a concert, where can you?) I also haven't included all of the songs or full clips of any songs as the video is already pretty long!

50 Things That Make Me Happy

Last week, the beautiful Severina tagged me to do the 50 Things That Make Me Happy Tag and as I've said a number of times on here, my favourite post on my blog so far is the 20 Things That Make Me Happy post as it is so positive and comforting to read and reread if I'm not having a particularly great day so I'm sure this one will be no different. Some I've not explained as they're pretty self explanatory and a couple might be the same as my 20 post but I've tried to mix it up a bit. So without further ado, here are 50 things that make me happy in no particular order.
1.    Family
2.   Friends
3.   Animals
4.   Good Food (especially healthy food as I can then enjoy it guilt free)- favourites would definitely include watermelon, halloumi, quinoa and veggie lasagna.
5.   Shopping
6.   Makeup- I love adding to my collection as well as trying out new looks. Good makeup days also make me very happy.
7.    Clothes- I love browsing for and purchasing new clothes and particularly love when I put an outfit together and feel confident in it.
8.   Homeware- I am a massive fan of homeware and love to plan room decor and buy bits and bobs, something I've enjoyed a lot this year, ready for September.
9.   Sunny Days- When the sky is blue, the sun is out and it's lovely and warm, I start the day feeling a lot happier and often find myself being more productive (unless it's too hot to concentrate).
10. Snow- On the other hand, I also love cold, snowy days and love skiing and ice skating which link to this type of weather. On another note, I also really want to learn to snowboard!
11.   Lush Baths- Any hot, bubble bath makes me happy but there's something extra special about a Lush one as they have so many gorgeous products that add to any bath time.
12.  Writing- Funnily enough, I love to write, be it a blog post, work on a fictional story, an article or even a list!
13.  The Blogging Community- Since starting my blog, I've been able to discover so many new blogs that I love to read, as well as so many lovely people behind them
14.  Books- I love sinking my teeth into a good book and having the chance to escape reality for a bit by involving myself in the plot and characters
15. TV Shows- There are way too many that I would consider favourites for me to single any out but I enjoy discovering a new TV show and then spending (too much) time watching them.
16. Films- I love a good film, particularly comedies, chick flicks and horrors.
17.  Concerts- There's nothing quite like the feeling of a concert; getting the chance to share a room with a musician you love and a bunch of people who share that love, whilst you all sing along to some of your favourite songs... concerts are very special events!
18. Music- Listening to music also makes me very happy, whether it's an artist I've loved for years or a new discovery.
19. Crisp, Autumn Days- These days can be lovely and cosy, when there is a nip in the air, you can wrap up warm and then cosy up when you get home. You also get the opportunity to step on crunchy leaves and hear that lovely sound!
20.Swimming- I don't do much swimming at all when I'm at home as it seems like a lot of effort either side of the actual activity but each time I go on holiday, I love to immerse myself in water and splash around for a bit.
21.  Gym- Whilst the actual exercise can be a bit tedious sometimes (it can also be pretty fun at other times), it makes me happy after I've completed a workout, knowing I've done something good for my body.
22. Holidays- It's great to take a break from your usual daily stresses and enjoy time with great company, in a lovely place, doing relaxing things.
23. YouTube- There are so many YouTubers and YouTube videos that make me happy when I watch them and often put a smile on my face when I don't feel great.
24. Meeting New People- I love meeting and chatting to new people and although it can take me a bit of time to come out of my shell and properly chat to the person, it's great finding someone new that you really get along with .
25.Planning and When Plans Pay Off- I love writing lists and planning events and things like that and love it even more when it pays off and the plan comes together.
26.  Just Dance 3, This is Halloween- When I have a few days where I don't really feel like going to the gym, usually due to a lack of confidence or something, or can't get to the gym but I still want to do some sort of exercise, I either do a Zumba session at home, a home workout or have a bit of fun on Just Dance 3 and one of my favourite ones to do is This is Halloween, where I always select the Pumpkin as I love the spinning section (anyone who has played this will probably understand)- it's just a fun way to destress and do a bit of exercise at the same time.
27. Candles- There are so many gorgeous candles out there which smell amazing and whenever I buy one (and remember to light it), it makes me happy and helps make what I'm doing seem less stressful.
28.Getting Home After a Holiday- As much as I love going away, having an amazing time and discovering new places, I also love getting back home, to my own things and my family.
29.  Birthdays- I love celebrating my birthday, particularly when I get to plan a gathering or party for it and then get to see family and friends.
30.Christmas- The whole festive season makes me very happy for obvious reasons.
31.  Doing Nice Things for People- It warms my heart knowing I've helped somebody or made somebody smile.
32. Seeing People Do Nice Things for Others (especially for strangers)- Similarly, I love seeing people being nice and spreading positivity, particularly among people they don't know... it actually makes me want to cry (with joy) seeing these things happen.
33. Completing a To Do List- It's very satisfying to complete a To Do list and being able to see all the little tasks ticked off.
34. Notebooks- I love notebooks, there are so many cute ones and I find it hard to resist adding to my collection.
35.A Good Sleep (so that I feel refreshed in the morning)- Whilst I love getting into bed and going to sleep when I'm tired, I often feel like I'm wasting time when I could be doing more productive things but of course we all need sleep and I love the refreshed feeling you get when you've had a good sleep but still get up early enough to get plenty done that day.
36.  Clear Skin- When my skin is clear(er) and well hydrated, it makes me feel a lot happier and more confident, as shallow as that may sound but it means I can feel more confident with less makeup.
37. Gatherings- I love planning and hosting gatherings but I also enjoy attending them, particularly smaller ones which make me feel less anxious than big events.
38.Cold Bed- A simple pleasure of mine is getting into a cold bed and warming it up slowly with your body heat.
39.  Clean Linen- There's just something lovely about getting into a fresh, clean bed.
40.Comfy clothes- I love being able to get into comfortable clothes at the end of a day.
41.  Nice Feedback on My Blog- It makes me so happy hearing lovely things about my blog and knowing that people enjoy my content.
42. Quotes and Lyrics- I love so many different quotes and meaningful lyrics and enjoy reading my little collection of them from time to time.
43. Photos- As a blogger, you probably won't be surprised to hear that I love taking and displaying photos. I have several scrapbooks and photo albums as well as lots of photos on my walls.
44. Pretty flowers
45.Driving on a Pleasant Day with Music- When it's neither rainy and miserable or so sunny that it's blinding, I love driving and listening to music.
46.  Memories- I love looking back on favourite and funny memories and whilst some I long to forget, many make me very happy.
47. Laughing- I love a good laugh and thoroughly enjoy company involving a great deal of funny moments and laughter.
48.Dresses- Of all the clothes available, I love buying and wearing dresses probably the most.
49.  Games- Board games, card games and any games in general really can be so fun to play, particularly with a good group of people.
50.  Readers- Wow this is cliche but I couldn't do this post without mentioning those that read my blog, it genuinely makes me really happy knowing people enjoy what I write, so thank you.
Thank you Severina for tagging me, I enjoyed doing this and actually found it easier to come up with 50 things than I anticipated. If you haven't already, then I recommend checking out her blog as it's one of my favourites. I'm not going to tag anybody specific to do this tag but if anybody wants to (I recommend it as it's a lovely one to write and read), let me know and I'll be sure to check it out.

A-Z of Me

I saw Severina upload an 'A-Z of Me' post on her blog almost two weeks ago and loved it, it was something I hadn't seen done before and thought it was a great idea which is why I decided to do this post for myself. I used a couple of the same headings as Severina did which wasn't intentional; as I was brainstorming I just found that a couple were the same but they seemed like the most suitable for that letter anyway which is why I didn't try to think of something else.

A is for Author
Whether it's the author of a blog post, an article or a novel, I love writing and hope to continue this passion in the future, hopefully as a job.
B is for Beauty
I love buying and trying various beauty products as suggested by my blog posts but natural beauty is another thing I feel passionate about, I want people to feel confident and happy in their own skin as I truly believe that everyone is beautiful but not everyone sees it.
C is for Culture
I find it interesting to learn about different cultures and languages. I'd love to be able to speak a variety of languages but at the moment just learning French is a challenge!
D is for Dresses
Dresses are one of my favourite types of clothing, any formality and any style. I love buying and wearing dresses and have a couple in my wardrobe that I am very excited to wear when there is a suitable occasion. For me, a casual dress and leggings is so much comfier and often makes me feel more confident than a top and jeans but I also love wearing a more formal dress for evening occasions.
E is for Equality
I feel very strongly about equality amongst people, in any area, as I don't see why so many lablels should be applied and should define how a person should be perceived or treated. Whatever gender, race, sexuality or anything else you identify as, I don't think it should play any role in how you are treated in your life.
F is for Family and Friends
Family and friends are some of the most important things to me, I don't know where I'd be without them!
G is for Gym
I never thought I'd hear myself say this but I actually enjoy going to the gym (most of the time) and like noticing a difference in my fitness and strength.
H is for Halloween
My birthday is very close to Halloween so I've had a lot of Halloween themed parties over the years and it's made me love the occasion.
I is for Independence
I like to consider myself quite independent, not in all areas of my life but when possible I like to control my own things and act as independently as I can. It's important to me to be my own person rather than relying on somebody else.
J is for Journalism
Like I mentioned in the author heading, I would love to go into some sort of work involving writing in the future and one of the main things I would like to go into is journalism, particularly print journalism but not ruling out other areas. I've done a couple of things related to this field but will be studying it at University in September which I am very much looking forward to.
K is for Karate
I used to do karate and got to one belt below black before the club folded due to a lack of numbers.
L is for Laughter
If you know me in person, it is highly likely that you will have seen me laughing on multiple occasions. I love to laugh and find myself doing it a lot more than is probably necessary but that's not necessarily a bad thing except when it makes me look like an absolute nutter; laughing to myself! I also cry with laughter a lot, particularly in warmer environments which people always joke about or think I'm crazy but I honestly believe I cry more with laughter when the room is warmer. I also have several different types of laughs. If you can make me laugh or we can have a laugh together, there is a high chance I'll get on well with you.
M is for Music
Music is a huge part of my life, I love so many different artists and several different styles and I couldn't imagine it not being a part of my life.
N is for Notebooks
Again linking to the writing element, I love notebooks- I have more than I need but it helps to keep things neat and separate (plus they look cute).
O is for Organised
I like being organised for pretty much anything and definitely feel more at ease when I know exactly what I'm doing or what to expect (at least to an extent). I also love lists which definitely helps me to be organised.
P is for Pets
I have three pets at the moment: a dog, a cat and a horse, and love them all. They each have their personalities and their presence (or more specifically cuddles) makes me very happy. Although they may not feel the same when I constantly bug them for a hug.
Q is for Quizzes
I love doing quizzes and if I have a chance at winning, I get pretty competitive, if I really don't know the answers or topic areas then it doesn't bother me but if it's something I know a fair bit about I get very competitive and then excited if I win. We do a family quiz at Christmas each year and I love to both make the quiz, when it's my turn, and take part in our team.
R is for Reading
I love to read, particularly fiction novels and blogs. I love burying my head in a book and becoming involved with both the plot and the characters.
S is for Shopaholic
I am a shopaholic: I love buying new things, particularly clothes or beauty products.
T is for TV Shows (& Movies)
I had to have a category for TV shows and Movies as there are so many that I love, they are a great source of entertainment and like with books, I like to temporarily immerse myself in another world.
U is for University
I felt this needed to be included in my A-Z as although I'm not at university yet, I am very excited to start that chapter of my life.
V is for Vegetarian
Quite self explanatory really: I'm a vegetarian. I became a piscetarian 8 years ago but become fully vegetarian (so basically I stopped eating fish) about 4 months ago.
W is for Watermelon
Of course W had to be for watermelon. It is my favourite food and if it wasn't so expensive or limited to certain times of the year, I would eats it 24/7.
X is for 'X'
X was a tricky one to think of so I went for the typical 'x' sign that I use to end messages as well as the end of my blog name and blog posts.
Y is for YouTube
If you don't know by now, I watch a lot of YouTubers and couldn't not include this platform in my A-Z.
Z is for Zodiac
I'm not sure whether or not I believe the astrology behind zodiac signs but I love to read about horoscopes and often relate to them (although I understand that they are rather generic when you properly consider them).

I was having a conversation about gossiping the other day and I don't think I articulated my thoughts very well so it inspired me to talk through them a bit more on here.

Before I start, I just want to make it clear that I don't think people should stop gossiping or bitching altogether, it's part of life. If something gets on your nerves, you are going to want to express those feelings and you might as well do it with someone you trust just to let you vent rather than bottling those emotions up or taking it out on someone/something else. Having said that, I don't see the point in bitching about someone or something for the sake of it when they have no impact on your life, especially if you barely know them. To me that's just a way of introducing negativity into your own life as well as the person you're discussing if they ever find out.

It's like YouTube, there's no point watching something or someone, not liking it and leaving a negative comment... there's no point. Unless it's constructive criticism it just causes unnecessary negativity when all you really need to do is click off and not involve yourself in the channel. It's the same in life, if you don't like what someone is saying and you have the opportunity for it to play no role in your life, take that opportunity and move on from it.

Whilst gossiping or bitching may seem pretty harmless, there is a line and it can go past the line without you realising. It can also have a negative effect on the victim in more ways that you may expect.

I hate when the media gossips about celebrities by creating rumors, exaggerating events or putting them down when their life plays no role in the person who created the story's life. I see gossiping about someone you don't really know or that has no role in your life seems like the same thing just on a smaller scale but equally as pointless and negative.

Personally I see it as a way of putting people down when we should be building people up and I don't see the point in it if it's not going to solve anything for anyone. I'm not saying I've never gossiped or anything, I'm pretty sure everybody has but if it doesn't need to affect me or my life there's no point in me getting hung up on it and wasting valuable time complaining about it when there are so many more important things to be concerned about.

It's only a small thing but by stopping the unnecessary negativity and doing more to help others or compliment others (or at least not negatively impact them), it can help decrease the amount of hate and spread the love instead which is vital in the world we currently live in.

I hope that all made sense, I tried to express my thoughts as best as I could but it was a bit all over the place. What are your thoughts on gossiping, just a bit of harmless fun or is it unnecessarily damaging?

February & March Favourites 2016

This is the first time I've combined two monthly favourites but as I mentioned at the time, I had about three new things I could feature in my February favourites and it didn't seem worth it to me. I'm happy I've been able to combine the two and share more things I've been loving throughout February and March but hopefully next month it will be back to normal and I'll have plenty of monthly favourites to share with you. I don't seem to have had a great deal of new Beauty favourites recently and I don't want to keep mentioning the same products time and time again but I have definitely had plenty of music and TV favourites!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish- As I mentioned in my latest haul, I've been wanting to try this product for a while now and after using it twice daily for the past couple of weeks I have noticed a difference in my skin as although I'm still struggling with breakouts (I seriously hope this stops soon), my skin feels cleaner, softer and just generally in better condition since adding this into my skincare routine.
Oh La La- As it has turned to Spring, I've found myself regularly reaching for my Spring/Summer scent: Oh La La by Agatha De Riuz as it reminds me a lot of holidays which makes me very happy to wear it.
Infallible Primer- Whilst I think this product makes my makeup last longer, I don't think it really makes THAT much difference to it's longevity but it definitely works better than other primers I have tried. However, it does make my makeup apply more evenly and nicely and definitely helps to mattify my foundation.
Clinique Creamy Nude- I think this might be my first lipstick to feature in a monthly favourites as I tend to prefer lipgloss, tinted lipbalm or the Maybelline Velvet Lip Crayons but surprisingly, I have been reaching for this nude shade a lot recently. I wore it in my first look in the Spring Lookbook that I uploaded last weekend as well as both before and after then- it has been my go to lip product. I think it works really nicely with the Maybelline Velvet Lip Pencil in Nude Perfection and generally just adds a subtle but lovely finish to a makeup look.

How I Met Your Mother- I spent the majority of my free time in February watching How I Met Your Mother from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed it. Whilst there are a lot of similarities to Friends, I love them both and have become more of a fan of HIMYM since watching it this month. Without giving anything away for anyone who hasn't see it, season 9 was even more emotional this time, having grown attached to the characters and becoming invested in their storylines more so than when I had watched a few episodes in a random order.
The Big Bang Theory- After spending a great deal of February watching How I Met Your mother, I spent the first two weeks of March watching The Big Bang Theory (the first 8 seasons that are available on Netflix) and loved it. I've been a fan of the show for a couple of years but I thought it was about time I watched it all the way through and I'm so glad I did. I find the sarcasm and overall humour thoroughly entertaining and enjoy watching the characters and storylines in general. I'm also enjoying the episodes currently being aired and look forward to the rest of this season.
Jack Whitehall's Tour DVDs- I've never really been the biggest fan of Jack Whitehall (not that I didn't like him just not a massive fan) but when I was looking for a comedy to watch on Netflix, I stumbled across his two Tour DVDs and thought I'd have a little watch. I'm so glad I did as they were both extremely entertaining and hilarious to watch, particularly the 2015 one which I loved the ending to. If you enjoy watching comedians, I highly recommend checking him out.
Saturday Night Takeaway- Of course this show had to feature in my monthly favourites; Ant and Dec are hilarious and lovable and their show is no different. It's such a feel good show to watch and completes a Saturday night in. The guest announcers, the end of the show show performers, Malfie, the other celebrities that have featured either in sketches, 'I'm a Celebrity Get Out Of Me Ear' and so on and of course Ant and Dec themselves have all been a delight to watch every week and quite honestly, I'm gutted that the season is over tomorrow.
No and Watch Me Do by Meghan Trainor-As you may recall, Meghan's last album featured a lot in my monthly favourites last year and I have a feeling the new one could do again this year. The first two singles from her album are brilliant for their catchy tune and empowering lyrics and if the rest of the album has a similar vibe I'll be very happy (although there hasn't been a song of hers that I haven't liked so far although I haven't liked a few of lyrics in some of them).
Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande- The first single from Ariana's upcoming album is fabulous. I've listened to this song so many times and every time (when I'm alone) I try (and fail) to hit the high notes. She has an incredible voice and this track really showcases that.
Best Fake Smile by James Bay- I'm not sure what it is about this track that I love so much but to me this just fits everything I love about music into one song. I love the lyrics, the music, the vocals... it's all incredible.

Family- Of course, family are always a favourite as they are one of the most important things in my life but I wanted to include them in this month's favourites as I have had quite a few family members stay over as well as pretty much all of those on my mum's side coming for the afternoon/evening which was lovely to be able to spend time with them and to see my second cousins (8 under 8) playing together.

You- I don't say this enough but I love everyone who reads my blog whether that;s regularly, the odd post, long term or a newbie, I love you all and really appreciate when you leave me nice comments or show any signs of support from reading to following to commenting and so on- it always puts a smile on my face. I also want to say hello and welcome to any new readers, I hope you enjoy what you find on here. If anyone ever has any comments or suggestions for posts or the blog overall, I'm interested to hear them. If you ever just fancy a chat and want to leave a comment that's also great, I love discovering new readers and then often new blogs as a result.
