December Favourites 2015

This month I've had more of a challenge deciding what to put in my favourites as I haven't bought many things for myself to try and so I haven't made many new discoveries. (Any Christmas favourites will feature in my January favourites as I haven't had enough time to take these into consideration this month.) Nevertheless I have uploaded a monthly favourites every other month this year and I shall not fall at the last hurdle. Also, I will be continuing to upload monthly favourites next year as I've had a lot of fun writing them this year and they seem to have had quite a positive response.

Maybelline Lash Sensational and L'Oreal False Lash Superstar Mascara- I have put these two products together as although I love them both individually, this month, I have really loved using the two of them together to create even longer, more volumised and full lashes. I usually start by applying the L'Oreal Mascara and finish with Lash Sensational.
L'Oreal Superstar Superliner- I am in love with this eyeliner, it's honestly so easy to use and lasts really well. You can create a small line and flick or build it up to create a bolder look.
Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils- I mentioned these in last months favourites but they had to be featured in here as well as they are unbelievably good lip products. They not only look amazing on, but are easy to apply both as a liner or (my preferred method) all over the lips and they last so much longer than anything else I've tried.

The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire by Dan Howell and Phil Lester and Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg- I've put these two books together as I'm not going to talk about them much in this post because I did a book review on the two of them a few days ago, so you can check that out here if you missed it.
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here- Another thing that I featured in my November Favourites but as it finished in December, I wanted to put it in here too. I really enjoyed this series so much more than the other series and that's saying a lot as I've loved them a lot too. I particularly enjoyed it after Lady C and Chris left as I really enjoyed watching the remaining campmates. I was so happy with the final three and although George was my favourite to win, I was right in thinking Vicky would take the crown and I felt like any of the three would have been worthy winners.
Hello Katy- I've really been enjoying Katy's videos recently. She uploads a lot of chatty vlogs and there are so many points she brings up that I feel like I can really relate to which often helps make me feel a bit better about something or like it's okay for certain things to make me feel the way I do.
IIsuperwomanII- I've been subscribed to Lilly's channel for a while now but last month my love for her videos spiraled and I found myself binge watching so many of her old videos. I find her videos and personality so funny and addictive and for anyone that hasn't watched any of her videos... why the heck not?
24 Days of Zoella and Vlogmas- This month I have thoroughly enjoyed having a new Zoella video to watch every single night as well as a new vlog from her and several other people. You can really tell how much time and effort she put into both the main channel videos and the vlogs! My personal favourite 24 Days of Zoella videos have been her collabs which have all been hilarious but I can't pick just one favourite. My other favourite Vlogmas videos have been Louise and Gabby's but I have also tuned into a couple of others just not every day.

Personal Trainer Sessions- This month my mum and I had a couple of personal training sessions (one a week) as part of a deal we bought and although they were all extremely difficult as each one involved activities we'd not tried before and pushed us to our absolute limit, they were fun to do and made us feel like we'd really worked hard afterwards.
University Offers- This month I also received my final offers for university and was so so happy with them, especially because I received an unconditional offer for my first choice course and university which has made me extremely excited to embark on my uni adventure next year.
Blogger Candy- As you may have noticed, I recently updated my blog's appearance and the beautiful design I chose to use was one I found on bloggercandy's blog which was among a number of other gorgeous blog templates. As much as I loved the old design, I wanted to give my blog a makeover as we head into 2016 and for my second year as a blogger.
Paperweights- As a child, one of my fondest memories of my grandad is looking at his paperweight collection and for years I always use to look at them, wishing I could have such a beautiful collection, I don't know why they fascinated me so much but I loved everything about them. I lost my grandad about 3 years ago now and as my grandma is moving house she asked if there was anything I wanted which was when I asked if I could pick a paperweight to keep. I now have two sitting proudly on display in my room, not only looking pretty but also reminding me of my grandad whenever I see them.
Lalalab- I really love the quality and appearance of the photo prints you can buy from Lalalab. It's so easy to order them; I did it by downloading the app and then following the simple instructions to decide which photos I wanted printed and what size I wanted. I went for the vintage style prints as I love polaroids and wanted that style to feature in my scrapbook. I highly recommend this brand and if you are interested in ordering from them, you can type in this code to get £5 off your order PGNNIV6B (there's no minimum amount you need to spend to receive this discount).

The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire and Girl Online On Tour Review

I hope you are having a lovely Christmas/Boxing Day! I thought it was about time I uploaded another couple of  book reviews (or more specifically another couple of YouTuber book reviews).

Girl Online On Tour by Zoe Sugg
I'm sure you all know by now how much I love Zoe Sugg (Zoella)- her blog, her videos, her beauty products and her books! I know Girl Online On Tour came out a while ago now but as I have had very little time to read recently, I've only just got round to reading it. Once I started the book, it did make me read more regularly as I got hooked quite quickly and just wanted to find out what was going to happen next. I personally found it quite easy to guess the story line but it didn't make me enjoy it any less, in fact, it made me excited to read on to see if I was right or to discover the effect certain things have on the characters.

I grew more attached to both Penny and Noah in this book (although at times Noah really wound me up which I can only assume is the way Zoe wanted us to feel about his actions anyway) and found myself desperately hoping that their relationship would run smoothly and perfectly for both of their sake. Having said that, I think my favourite character is Leah because I love the way she's perceived to be a certain way and can act really pop star like in certain situations but when it comes to it, she's actually really sweet and treats Penny really nicely.

I love the band stand part, which I won't spoil in case anybody wants to read it for themselves. I'd heard Zoe mention the bandstand bit in a couple of her vlogs so I was intrigued as to where it would feature and what would happen and I can honestly see why she loved that section so much. It's so sweet and made me very emotional (side note: don't read the last few chapters after you've done your make up for the day).

Overall I think this book is a lovely, easy read and I would recommend both books in the series.

The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire by Dan Howell and Phil Lester
I love watching both Dan and Phil's videos, with Dan being in my top 3 YouTubers so of course I'd want to read this book. Like with Girl Online On Tour, it took me a while to read after purchasing it due to having so much on.

I love their sense of humour in their videos and this is mirrored in the book. I found myself laughing at at least 50% of the pages either from their stories, the images or their tone of voice. It also made me realise that I am more like Dan than I thought, it got to the point where I concluded that he is the male version of me (there are some different qualities but so many things mentioned through out the book, could have been referring to me)!

It's difficult to pick out my favourite part of the book but if I had to decide, I think it would be their flat floor plans which I found both interesting and highly amusing!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone, whether you watch their videos or not, as I think it's such a great book to pick up and read either in one sitting or just every so often as a humorous, entertaining read.

Available to buy here

Have you read either of these books, if so, what did you think of them?

The Holly Jolly Christmas Tag

EEEEEK! One more sleep! In true festive form, I thought I'd upload an extra blog post this week and would really get into the Christmas spirit with The Holly Jolly Christmas Tag.

1. Favourite Christmas Movie?
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
2. Are you on the Naughty list or the Nice list?
I hope I'm on the nice list!
3. Show us an embarrassing Christmas card photo.
We've never done family photo Christmas cards so I'm afraid I don't have one to show you.
4. Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yes but not with a lot of snow.
5. Where do you usually spend Christmas?
We spend the morning at home; my grandparents visit for a drink late morning and then we have Christmas dinner with my other grandma, we then all go to my cousins or they all come to us for the afternoon/evening.
6. Play or sing your favourite Christmas song.
Shakin' Stevens: Merry Christmas Everyone
7. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No, I like to wait until Christmas Day to open presents.
8. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
I believe I can. The original 8 are: Dasher, Dancer, Donner, Blitzen, Vixen, Cupid, Comet and Prancer and of course there's also Rudolph if you count them all
9. What holiday tradition are most looking forward to this year?
I'm looking forward to everything but one thing I'm really excited for is the Christmas quiz that we do in teams when we all get together in the afternoon, which I have been given the task of creating this year.
10. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We have four: one fake white one, a small ish fibre optic tree and two real Christmas trees- one outside and one as our main tree in the lounge! I love having a real Christmas tree as they not only make the room smell amazing and so Christmassy, but I find picking out a Christmas tree one of the best parts of the build up to Christmas.
11. What's your all time favourite Christmas food?
Probably homemade mince pies, roasted parsnips or Celebrations which I know you can get at other times but to me, they are THE Christmas chocolates!
12. Be honest, do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
This is difficult as I love doing both, if it's something tat I've put a lot of effort into and/or know the person will love it then giving gifts but if not then maybe receiving not because I have a present but just because I love the excitement of guessing what something us and the actual unwrapping process.
13. Show us your tackiest Christmas attire.
 14. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I don't really want to go anywhere for Christmas as I love having Christmas day at home but if I were to go after Boxing Day for a week or something, then I'd say anywhere that I could go skiing.
15. Does your family have a special Christmas recipe that you like to help make?
Not really, I sometimes help my mum make mince pies which she does slightly differently to a lot of people do it or I'll help with the Christmas cake but nothing I do every year or that is a special tradition
16. Are you a pro-present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I think I'm somewhere in between- I'm definitely not a pro but I don't think I fail at it, they always look presentable, I just don't go all the way, adding ribbon or really cute features.
17. Most memorable Christmas moment?
Unfortunately this isn't a positive one; my most memorable Christmas moment was a couple of years ago when we were sat at the dining room table, my mum was dishing up the soup in the kitchen and my grandad wanted his camera so my grandma got up to get it, annoyed about it and as she came back in, she tripped up the step and smacked her head in the corner of the table and I've never seen anything like it! She then spent Christmas in the hospital.
18. What made you realise the truth about Santa?
I think there were a few things that just didn't quite add up but there wasn't a single thing that made me realise. I kind of guessed a couple of years before I actually asked my parents because I was scared he wouldn't come if he found out I didn't believe in him anymore.
19. Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Sort of, in the past I've made (and failed to keep) resolutions but more recently, I've created goals for the year instead.
20. What makes Christmas special for you?
Getting to spend time with all of my family!

Notebook Appreciation

Before I begin my notebook appreciation, I just want to welcome you to my new blog design. I felt like it could do with a change for its second year and I really loved this design when I came across it on Blogger Candy's blog which has some great blogging advice (the more technical side) as well as having some really lovely blog templates both free or that you can purchase.

This may seem like an odd blog post to upload but it's something I'm interested in and would be interested in reading on other blogs. As someone interested in reading and writing, you may not be surprised to discover that I have a slight obsession with books and notebooks and frequently buy more than I need. Therefore, today I thought I'd show you a couple of notebooks (and similar) that I own and love. These could also be great (late) gift ideas for anyone interested in writing or that is/should be organised and needs things to help with that.
Follow Your Heart Notebook
This little beauty was bought for me by a friend as part of my Secret Santa present and I am in love with it. It's got a smooth (I'm not sure what material), white with black polka dots cover with gold foil writing and it's honestly just blogger heaven. I haven't written in it yet but I am most excited to do so. I think my friend said she bought this in TK Maxx but I haven't managed to find it online, if you are interested in getting it or something similar, you could always head into one of their stores and
browsing their books and stationary section as they always have some lovely things in there anyway.

It's Time To Start Living Notebook
Unfortunately you can't this book in the UK but I felt it deserved a place in this blog post anyway as I think it's beautiful. You may recognise it from my Bits and Bobs Haul as I purchased it whilst in Spain in Summer and since then I've found it very useful (as well as aesthetically pleasing) for blog post planning. I'm a bit gutted that I can't order things from the online store to the UK as they have some really lovely stuff! If I ever find myself in Spain again, I will definitely be purchasing some more things.

Sprinkle of Glitter 2016 Diary
This was another product featured in my Bits and Bobs Haul but has since been mentioned briefly in my October Favourites where I also mentioned her signing. I was fortunate enough to be able to get the diary signed by and meet Louise which was an amazing experience as she was so lovely! The diary itself is gorgeous to look at but is also great for channeling positive vibes through out next year as there are some really lovely, unique features to it. It's made very excited to start 2016 off organised and keep on top of my diary so that I know exactly what I'm doing and when.
You can purchase the diary here
Music Listography
As a list lover, I loved this the moment I set my eyes on it. I love the idea behind the various listography books and whilst I only have the music one for now, I am keen to get my hands on several of the other genres such as the general listography and the travel listography. It's a lovely book to pick up and fill in every so often as it helps to take my mind off of things for a while and is really fun and interesting to do.

642 Things To Write About
I'm going to be honest with you, out of the 642 topics, I have only written one HOWEVER, I love the concept of the book and would really love to fill in more of the topics as it's both fun and useful to do for the development of my writing. The only reason I haven't filled much in yet is because I've had such a busy year and when I've been writing, it's been for blog posts or other commitments. There are some really bizarre topics in the book that I think are great for inspiration.
You can purchase it here

Black and Brown Geometric Patterned Notebook
I bought this notebook towards the end of last year from Paperchase and it's been sitting in my notebook drawer practically empty since the start of 2015. After going through my stationary drawer and finding it again, it's made me excited to fill it with more creative writing based pieces. As I bought this last year, I haven't been able to find it on the website but there are a number of other gorgeous notebooks, similar and different so I'd recommend checking them out.

The Christmas Tag

It's not long until Christmas now... are you as excited as I am? Keeping with the Christmas theme, I thought today would be a good day to upload my Christmas Tag.

1. What's your favourite Christmas movie?
The Grinch

2. What's your favourite Christmas colour?
Red- red and pink are my favourite colours anyway so of course red is my favourite Christmas colour.

3. Do you like to stay in your pyjamas or dress up for Christmas?
Dress up! We always open presents in the morning in our pyjamas but then we all get dressed ready for my grandparents to come round for a drink (I've worn a dress every year for as long as I can remember), we then have dinner with my other grandma before being joined by or joining the extended family for the afternoon/evening.

4. If you could buy one person a present this Christmas, who would it be?
I would say my mum because she has had to put up with a lot this year and has always been there to support everyone so I'd want to give her a present to thank her and show her how appreciated she is.

5. Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
We open presents from our parents and family friends in the morning, from our grandparents when we see them and from our extended family when we're together in the late afternoon/early evening.

6. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
I made one with my cousin a few years ago and as she I about four years older, she did all of the heating of the sugar so I didn't burn myself and repeatedly warned me about it and then burnt her own finger on it!

7. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
Relax and spend time with those I love.

8. Any Christmas wishes?
Just to have a lovely Christmas with everyone.

9. Favourite Christmas scent?
Either the smell of a Christmas Tree or cinnamon

10. Favourite Christmas meal or treat?
Homemade mince pies

11. Favourite Christmas song?
This is a really tough one as there are so many incredible Christmas songs but I think it would be either Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin' Stevens or Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade

12. Have you ever made a snowman?
I have attempted to make many but have only successfully made a couple in my 18 years of life!

Happy 1st Birthday Love Steph x

One year ago today, I finally took the plunge and created my own blog. Before this day, I had spent a few years occasionally reading blog posts; it wasn't a regular hobby but when I stumbled across various blog posts, I very much enjoyed them. After a long time deliberating on whether or not I should create a blog, what I should call it and the sort of topics I wanted to cover, I finally decided to just go for it and decided on things such as topics as I went along.

Blogging has helped me to discover new interests and develop existing ones as well as become a part of the blogging community. If I hadn't created this blog, I would never have had the chance to meet Megan, who not only has a great blog herself but has also been so lovely to me and really helpful, always taking the time to give me advice if I need it like when I first seriously started thinking about university courses. Since creating this blog, my love for beauty and fashion has increased a lot and I've found myself doing quite a few blog posts related to these topics which I didn't really expect to do when I first started writing.

Having a blog has also enabled me to develop my writing and experience a different media platform for myself. It has allowed me to have my own area of the internet to ramble on about little things, to share my thoughts and experiences and to open up about things that I would struggle to say aloud but find comfort in writing down.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has ever read a blog post; the regulars and those that stumbled across it once or twice. I also want to thank anyone that has ever left me a lovely message, I always enjoy reading them, knowing that someone has enjoyed whatever it is I have uploaded that day. I hope you will stick with me as I venture into the second year of blogging and that this time next year I can be talking about all of the new experiences and skills I've gained from another year.

What have been your favourite blog posts? Are there any you would love me to write next year? Let
me know in the comments.

Current Favourites: New (ish) Music

I am a huge music lover and as it's getting close to Christmas, artists seem to be dropping albums and singles left, right and center. Therefore, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some of my favourite new (ish) singles and albums, some of which have featured in the last couple of monthly favourites, others I've just kept to myself. A lot of these you will probably have come across as many are either in the charts or have been in the charts but there are a couple of less well known ones in there too.

Sounds Good Feels Good (Deluxe) by 5 Seconds of Summer- The band's second album is incredible, I thought the first was good but they just seem to be getting better and better. This album seems to cover more serious topics and emotions which I think helps the listener to connect with the music even more. My personal favourite is Outerspace/ Carry On (the two songs class as one track) as I adore the lyrics in Carry On as well as the melody in each of them. I could sit here and talk to you about each track individually but that would take a long time and would probably just consist of me rambling about how amazing they all are so instead I just recommend you give it a listen for yourself.
iTunes Deluxe album link here
Amazon link here

Get Weird (Deluxe) by Little Mix- Another smashing album with hit after hit. There is not one song by these ladies that I don't love but this album is on a whole new level. It seems to have a fairly diverse sound with some unexpected elements on various tracks but all in all, it just shows off their incredible vocals. My favourites are: Clued Up because of it's relatable lyrics which are great to hear on a bad day and; Love Me Or Leave Me and Secret Love Song Part 2 which are gorgeous vocally but are also great ballads to powerfully belt out- I think my family are sick of hearing me sing these in the shower!

Hallelujah, Victorious and Emperor's New Clothes by Panic! At The Disco- These are three of four songs from their upcoming album 'Death Of A Bachelor', which is due to be released in January, that have been released early and I have been loving listening to them all. Emperor's New Clothes has a very strange music video but the song itself is such a tune which I can't help but love listening and singing along to, as with the Victorious and Hallelujah.
Sax by Fleur East- If you're from the UK and haven't heard this song, where have you been? It's been playing on all of the radio stations as well as being the tune for Asda's Christmas adverts which seem to come on extremely often. It's so catchy and is sure to get people moving.
Focus by Ariana Grande- An incredibly catchy song that always makes me want to get up and dance whenever I hear the opening beat.
Over and Over Again by Nathan Sykes- Everything about this song is beautiful; the lyrics, the melody, the video, the vocals... it's all heavenly to listen to.
Wake Up and Cheater by The Vamps- Their new album is one of the CDs on my Christmas wishlist so the only songs I've got at the moment are these two. However, I really enjoy listening to them and really like the catchy tune to Cheater in particular which I think would be a great 'getting ready to go out' track' due to it's upbeat nature.
Love Yourself and Sorry by Justin Bieber- This is extremely difficult to put in this post as I have disliked Bieber for a long time now and whilst I loved his very first songs, I quickly went off him and them as a result of his behaviour and attitude. However, these two songs are incredible! I'm not a big fan of the rest of the songs on the new album, although I've only heard previews but I have had these two on repeat for the past couple of weeks.
Better When I'm Dancin' by Meghan Trainor- This is such a catchy, feel-good song and again makes me want to get up and dance whenever I hear the opening beats. I can't help but smile when I hear it.
The Sun Is Rising and Gold by Britt Nicole- These two are definitely not new releases but I felt like they deserved a spot in this post anyway as I recently rediscovered my love for them. Gold is another feel-good song whilst The Sun Is Rising is more of a ballad style which is something I always love to listen to.
Hotel Ceiling by Rixton- Another song that's been out a while but one that I have loved more and more recently. I love the tune to this song and always find it quite emotional but beautiful to listen to.
Queen's Speech 4 by Lady Leshurr- I feel like I shouldn't like this song, it's far from my usual music taste and the lyrics are questionable at best but for some reason, I love it. I love to rap/sing a long to it and find myself really getting into the song whenever I hear it being played.
Hello by Adele- Of course this had to be put in here. Adele is killing it as always and this single seems to be being played everywhere and for good reason. The vocals are stunning and the music itself is so powerful and amazing.
Eyes Shut by Years and Years- As soon as I first heard this track, I knew I loved it and after hearing it on the radio over and over again, my love developed further and I felt like I had no choice but to purchase it so that I could listen to it on repeat.
Follow You by Union J- This song hasn't been released yet as it's from their upcoming third album but the boys played it on their last tour and I have loved listening to the video I took as it's such a catchy song that I can't help but move and sing along to.
One Call Away and Some Type of Love by Charlie Puth- I've enjoyed listening to Charlie Puth's covers on YouTube since last Summer and since the release of See You Again, I've been even more hooked. These two songs are early releases form his upcoming album and they're incredible. I love the lyrics to One Call Away in particular but both have lovely, catchy tunes and amazing vocals.
Fall For You by Bethan Leadley- Last but not least is this single from Bethan's EP which was recently released. I love her distinctive tone as well as the guitar (I'm not sure which specific type) and drumming that you can hear with her vocals.

So that completes my fairly long list of recent music loves; there are a number of others but these are the main ones. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and that you've maybe discovered a new song that you like. If you have any recommendations, let me know as I always love discovering new songs and artists.

I Love Winter Tag

I know it's not technically Winter until the 21st December but I usually consider the whole of December as Winter and so seeing as today is the first, I thought it was a good time to do this tag.

1. Do you like the cold?
Yes, I love it when it's cold outside so you wrap up nice and warm but then when you get indoors, you can get all cosy and comfortable, in your pyjamas with the fire on, hot chocolate in hand.

2. Favourite thing about Winter?
I'm going to say the standard answer of Christmas because the build up to Christmas is always really exciting, Christmas itself is such a happy time of year, spending time with friends and family.

3. Favourite Winter drink?
White hot chocolate but I often find it too sickly if I have it out, so I tend to just drink it at home.

4. Do you do any outdoor activities in the Winter?
Not really. I just do the same sort of things I do all year. I'd love to ski or snowboard in the Winter but because of where I live, that's obviously not always possible so I have only done it a few times.

5. Favourite Winter scent?
This is a tough one but I love anything with cinnamon in, so it would probably have to be cinnamon.

6. Does it snow where you live?
Occasionally but not usually a lot.

7. Favourite clothing item in Winter?
This year, it would have to be jumpers because I've really been enjoying wearing them.

8. Your favourite Winter memory?
I mentioned this memory before in my Throwback Tag response (here) but it would have to be when we went skiing in Slovenia and we had purchased a circular sledge which supposedly went faster than a regular one. We had a lot of fun testing it out. On this particular run, my brother and I decided to go on it together and so we went flying down the hill. We could see the benches at the bottom getting closer and closer and were praying we'd stop before them. Luckily we stopped just in time and as I got up, I turned around and looked at the ski slope, noticing a girl on a sledge rapidly heading in our direction. I was trying and failing to find the words to warn my brother who was just standing up when all of a sudden there was a big crash and she had gone under my brothers legs, taking him with her and the two had collided into the benches at the bottom. Needless to say he didn't go back on the sledge for the rest of the day (possibly the
rest of the holiday) and was very annoyed at me for laughing.

Another favourite memory would also be Christmas every year in general; I have a lot of good memories from Christmas which just include spending quality time with my family and friends.

November Favourites 2015

Welcome back to my blog, today I have my November Favourites. This month there have been quite a few things I've loved, many of which I featured in my last haul or in other recent posts.

Beauty and Fashion:

L'Oreal Superstar Superliner- I mentioned my newly found love for this product in my Autumn Beauty Haul (here) but to summarise, it is unbelievably easy to use and creates a bold black line which can be built up to create either a thin or thick line, making it ideal for a cat eye flick.
Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil: 210 Keep It Classy- I also expressed my love for this product in my haul. These lip pencils are very long lasting and can be used as a pencil outline or used to fill in the lips completely. This colour in particular is a sort of berry shade with a slight pinky tone to it which makes it perfect for this time of year.
Zoella Awesome Drawersome- Some of my lovely friends bought me this for my birthday and I am in love with it. The products inside are gorgeous- not that I'd expect anything less from Zoella- and they smell incredible. The drawers themselves are really cute and pretty and now have their well earned place in my dressing room, containing my make up, which makes doing my make up in a morning a lot easier.
Arbonne Daily Cleanser- Another product I mentioned in my last haul; I have found this product a great improvement to my skincare routine as it makes removing my makeup a lot more gentle and kind to my skin and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean after each use.
Revolution Blush Palette Golden Sugar- This palette is stunning both in the palette and on the cheeks, a combination of the shades helps to create a lovely glow with hints of contour shading and plenty of shimmery highlight.
Radley Purse- The purse I received for my birthday is another of my new loves. Every time I get it out of my bag (more than I should do) my love for it is rekindled. The pattern and colour are gorgeous and it's the perfect size.
Radley Handbag- Linking to the purse, I have also been loving my Radley Handbag which is an ideal size for my essentials without being too big that I subconsciously feel the need to fill it with every random thing I find.
Black Bag- I have also loved using this other black bag from one of my friends and have been using this interchangeably with my Radley bag. Again, it's an ideal size and is easy to wear with anything.
Black Boots- I bought some new black boots last month and since then, I have worn very little else. They are perfect for this time of year and keep my feet nice and toastie whilst looking lovely at the same time.

Focus by Ariana Grande- The latest single by Ariana Grande is another massive hit in my opinion! I have been listening to it an awful lot this past month and find myself unable to do anything but move along to the rhythm and sing a long to the words every time it comes on.
Over and Over Again by Nathan Sykes- This beautiful song wasn't available to buy until a week ago but I've been listening to it on YouTube and enjoying the music video pretty much all month. The song itself is stunning; incredible vocals and beautiful lyrics but the music video is something else. I have watched it so many times and still cry every time.
Get Weird by Little Mix- Little Mix also dropped their new album this month and I have been obsessed with it! There isn't a single song I don't like on the album but my favourites have to be Love Me Or Leave Me, Clued Up and Secret Love Song Part 2. I have listened to these a ridiculous number of times and still love to belt them out every time my ears are graced with their beauty.
An Audience With Union J- Of course this had to go in my favourites! I won't go into detail about this as I did a whole post on it, so if you missed that and want to know more about the event, you can find it here.
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here- If you've seen any of this series or have seen which celebrities are in there, you probably won't be surprised to see this TV show in my favourites. I always love I'm A Celeb but have particularly enjoyed it this year because it has some awesome people on. Obviously George Shelley is my favourite in there but I am also really enjoying watching Jorgie, Vicky and Brian and have become very fond of them. I can't stand Lady C and find myself frequently getting worked up by her selfish and often plain idiotic comments and actions and more recently have taken a huge disliking to Chris based on a few sexist comments he made but the rest of the show is brilliant! Ant and Dec also help make the show incredible (of course!) with their brilliant comments that never fail to make me laugh.

Primark Throw- I bought this last month but have found it particularly lovely this month as it's gotten a lot colder. It was £5 but is incredibly soft and warm and has basically gone everywhere around the house with me. The one I have is also very festive as it's white with silver snowflakes on; you may have seen it in the background of some of my recent photos.
Candles- I have too many candle favourites to pick out a particular one for this month's favourites but I've basically been loving all of the ones I got for my birthday (post here). They all smell amazing and make my room feel a lot cosier and a much nicer environment when I'm working.
Group chat- This is a very random favourite but it is my group chat with my friends which constantly seems to have amusing, random conversations that probably make no sense to anybody else but is highly entertaining to be a part of. The people in it are also some of the best and funniest people, so of course that helps.
Friends- Linking to the group chat, I want to put my friends in my favourites. They could easily feature in any monthly favourite but in a bonus post last Wednesday (here), I talked a bit about them and the positive place I am in regarding friendships so I felt it was only right to give them a place in this month's favourites.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it. What have been your favourites this month?

The Best Friend Tag 2

A while ago, I uploaded The Best Friend Tag with George (here) and as it was a lot of fun to do, I wanted to do another one with different questions and with one of my other best friend's, Jess. I decided to set it out like last time, with each of us having a different colour so that it's easy to see who said what and so it can be more like a conversation than a straight forward answer.

When Jess is speaking/answering
When Steph is speaking/answering
When both of us are speaking/answering

Just to be clear, when Jess is answering, she is answering for me or what she thinks my answer to the question will be and vice versa, apart from when it's a joint question such as the first one when we just answer the question together.

How and when did you meet?
Our parents were friends so we met when Jess was born because she is three years younger.

Favourite memory?
We were doing the Colour Obstacle Run in Sheffield and on one of the obstacles we had to run and jump over inflatable barriers and then roll down the other side so after a past obstacle when I kicked Jess in the head, we decided to try and avoid this happening again by having both our heads the same way. When we rolled down one of them we got our heads stuck and locked together so we just slid down the side laughing our heads off.

Describe each other in one word.
Bonkers but in a good way.
Lovable however you are also really short tempered- you're so easy to wind up. I'm short tempered with certain people; I put up with stuff for a while but when I'm done with someone or something I don't just put up with it but I do get easily irritated by certain things or people.

One thing that annoys you about the other person?
Your worrying- especially about being on time
The amount of times you apologise

One thing you love about the other person?
Your laugh
Your randomness

If you could go anywhere in the world together, where would it be?
Australia because I think you would appreciate the accent almost as much as I would yeah.. and the overall lifestyle... or New York because I can imagine us living in a flat together; you as a journalist and me as a doctor

Favourite inside joke?
Any innuendo.

Who takes longer to get ready in a morning?
I think it would be me. Yep.

What's the other person's eye colour?
Blue (both of us have the same eye colour)

What is the name of your best friend's celebrity crush?
Yours is obviously George Shelley every day of the week. I have three...
I would say James McVey but you haven't mentioned him for a while so... Paul Walker, is the next one from a Bond film? Yeah. Daniel Craig and I have no idea for the last one... is it do with Lord Of The Rings? Yes. I don't know then. Orlando Bloom

What is your best friend's biggest fear?
Feet, burns or lifts? You are close with one of them because it would be fire but fire and burns kind of fit into one.
Is yours failure? Sort of, it's not living up to people's expectations.

What five films does your best friend love the most?
The Proposal, Wild Child, The Hannah Montana Movie, Bride Wars and The Hunger Games.Yes but three others are on parr with them as well, it's interchangeable: Pitch Perfect, Mean Girls? No. The Duff? No. I don't know... The Last Song and 22 Jump Street.
Skyfall, Marvel? No because I can't choose just one of them, they're all so good!! The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit... Have we discussed it? Sort of. Is it to do with space? No. Guardians Of The Galaxy? Nope, that comes under Marvel. (editing this post now, I realise that Guardians of the Galaxy is to do with space but I had meant Star Wars or Star Trek which we discussed before moving one) Do you want me to tell you? Yes. Fast and Furious and The Bourne Trilogy.

How would you describe your partner's ideal partner/spouse?
Tall. I think we can both agree on that one given the fact that we are 5ft10 and 11. I'd have to say tall, dark and handsome. I feel like you'd only go for someone whose really organised and... adorable.
I don't know, I don't really have an 'ideal' in terms of appearance other than tall but I'd say sense of humour is very important as well as trustworthy.
For you, tall obviously! Athletic, funny, blonde.

What is your best friend's dream job?

If you were out together, what would your best friend eat?
I feel like you would be pasta or pizza. In the past it would have been pizza but it's definitely pasta now- I've gone of pizza a lot this year.
I'd say burger for you. Yeah a burger or ribs... something meaty.

If your best friend was to wear a shirt/blouse or tee, which would it be?
I feel like yours would be a really nice t-shirt- not a standard t-shirt, a really nice one.
I think I would go for shirt because I often see you in them or hear you mention them but you I also see you in a t-shirt which has relation to a film or programme or something, like the Marvel one.

What are the three items your best friend always carries with them?
Phone, Purse...? No that's not one of the things because I never have any money, I don't feel the need for a purse. I have no idea... lip salve? No. Headphones. Yes. A bobble? No, my hair's usually up anyway. I have no idea... Keys.
Yours would be phone, lip salve and car keys.

Would your best friend watch a chick flick, action, comedy or horror film?
I think you would be action. Yes.
Mainly chick flick but maybe a comedy. Yeah but then there are times when I fancy watching a horror film as well. Although I only really watch horror films with George so I'd watch a horror programme instead of a horror film if I fancy horror and I'm on my own.

What's your best friend's lock screen?
I would say yours is either you and Runa or you, me, Grace and George at your party. It's me, you and George.
I don't know if yours is a picture or a quote or something from a movie because I know it was in the past. I'm gonna guess and say something to do with a film? No, it's you, me and Grace.

What is your best friend really bad at?

What concerts has your best friend been to?
An Audience With Union J, The Vamps and JLS. Ah you did remember, Very well done.
You're turn! The Vamps and Union J, The Wanted, McBusted, 5 Seconds Of Summer, An Audience With Union J, The Wanted (again), Union J at a festival but I don't know the festival, Did you see them on the X Factor tour? No but I went to the X Factor a different year so I'll give you that one. Is one a female act? Yes. The Saturdays? No. Have Little Mix toured already? Yes but I haven't seen them at their own tour yet. I have no idea...
The first I ever went to see were The Sugababes and then there's Big Gig, Alton Towers Live which is when I saw Union J at the festival type thing, Olly Murs, Union J's first tour and JLS.

How many children does your best friend want and what will be their names?
I think you'll want one boy and one girl and names... something like Sophie and Luke, not cause of Hemmings. I would like a boy and a girl ideally but either two or three in total and I'd quite like to adopt one if I had three. I like the name Anthony James for a boy and Halaana for a girl (silent H).
I think you'd want two but I have no idea for the names. I'd like two boys and a girl called James or Jake and Luke and Charlotte.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and learning a bit more about Jess and I. Hopefully you found it fairly easy to read and thought the structure was appropriate.

Young Adult/Teen Party Games

Not long ago, I celebrated my 18th and had some of my friends over for a Halloween Gathering. In the build up to it, I'd searched the internet for some age appropriate games but got very little back, so for anybody else that is in this boat, particularly as we head into the party season, I thought I'd share some of the games I came up with, inspired by the ones I did come across.

Drink Pass The Parcel
As the title suggests, this one is a game for the over 18s if you are in the UK, if not then it differs depending on whereabouts you are in the world. I'm sure you're all aware of the regular pass the parcel rules- pass a parcel around a circle and when the music stops, the person who it stops on unwraps the next layer before passing it on, which continues until the last 'prize' layer and whoever it stops on, wins the prize. I've seen a number of different ways of playing this game (yes it is normally for children) which includes sweets in each of the layers, forfeits in each layer or just empty until the prize but there are plenty of other options too. However, as it was my 18th birthday, I wanted to create a sort of drinking game. I kept most of the rules the same but in each layer (I had 18 in total), there was a shot test tube so that whoever the music stopped on had to unwrap the layer and drink the shot. I played this game with a few people that either couldn't or didn't want to drink which was still fine, instead they had to nominate somebody else to drink it if it landed on them. I thought this was a quite a different alternative of a children's game and is one I would definitely play again. The test tubes we used weren't that strong as they were only 0.3 units but you can use whatever strength you want. If you do decide to play this game for any events in the future, please make sure you're responsible about it and that you do drink responsibly.

If you are interested in playing this game and want to know where you could get test tube shots, these were the ones I ordered (x), which I think were reasonably priced for the number you get.

Mad Lib Challenge
This one was inspired by Alfie, Marcus and Jim (video here). I searched the internet for a Halloween mad lib story which were pretty much all aimed at children however, they seemed to work well anyway. You can do this for a number of different themes- whatever suits your event or you can create on of your own by finding a passage and taking out a rangeof words. Once I had my story, I split the group in two and gave them each a sheet with a list of the types of words they had to come up with such as, name, verb, noun etcetera. They then had two minutes to come up with all of the words. At the end of the two minutes, I read out the story, pausing at each gap for the first team to fill them in. I then repeated it with the second team and then selected a winner based on which story I found funniest. This game was very simple and another adaption of a children's game but it provided some very funny moments.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and that some of you have found it useful for any upcoming events you might have. If you have any young adult games that you recommend, leave me a comment as I'm always happy to hear new ideas.

Contemplating Friendships

I decided to put this post up early and upload a different one at the weekend because I think it might be useful for a couple of my friends to read today...

Throughout my life, I've had a number of negative friendships which looking back on, I spent far too much time putting up with them. They weren't horrible but they were negative for different reasons. One significant one was within a friendship group whereby I could be comfortable and happy spending time with individuals but as a group, I spent a lot of time feeling awful. Their sense of humour and characteristics were to put other people down through jokes or comments which weren't meant to be nasty but felt that way to me and I think this particular friendship made me more bitter or sharp with other people as well which wasn't the kind of person I wanted a friendship to make me. There were a lot of comments made towards me that although they were made in jest, they affected me a lot and made me feel so much worse about myself but fortunately, I've not been a part of this friendship group for a couple of years now.

Another toxic friendship was one which lasted many years- so much longer than it should have done. It was very one sided, with me being there for them through pretty much everything and then not having the same returned. I wasted so many years being there for them, ready to listen and help through everything I could and then when they no longer needed me, they'd drop me for somebody else and would barely talk to me until they needed me again and this continued for many years. More recently, they'd cut me off from conversations and situations where they could, I don't know if that was intentional or not but it still made me feel quite down a lot, to the point where I couldn't be in their presence or hear their name without feeling either sad or angry, which made simple things difficult as I unfortunately had to see them quite a bit. At times, they could be very pleasant towards me and we could have quite an enjoyable time but for the most part I hated being a part of that friendship but I didn't want to cause an argument so I just put up with it. Recently, I was able to put the friendship to bed and move on for good which was quite sad to think about but was definitely the right move and has made me feel a lot more free and a lot happier with my current friendships.

Which brings me to now. After experiencing the above friendships as well as a few other toxic ones, I've reached the point where I'm surrounded by some of the best friends. I can honestly say there isn't one person I regret being friends with at the moment or that causes me to feel negative which is a relatively new experience for me. Whilst there are a lot of areas in my life that could do with being improved, I don't feel like my friendships are one of those things. I have a group of people I enjoy spending time with and can spend hours laughing with, people I can turn to and that I trust. The only negative thing about it is that it's come at a time so close to when we'll all be separating ways for university or whatever else we decide to do but I sincerely hope these friendships continue.

So to any of my friends reading this, I love you all lots and want to thank you for being so amazing!!! Also, thank you for cheering me up so much more than you realise by making a negative day have some really positive aspects. I'm also sorry if I ever seem like I'm pushing you away, I never mean to, I'm just not good at talking and keep things to myself instead which means I start to isolate myself and put a bit of a guard up. It doesn't mean I don't want to talk to you, it just means I'm finding it more difficult to do so at that time. I want you all to know how much you mean to me and what amazing people you are.

Thank you for reading this rambly post, I hope you've found it interesting or even relatable to your own lives.

Would You Rather Tag 2

Would You Rather...
1. Walk around all day with your skirt tucked into your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress?
A tough opening question but I'd say my skirt tucked in as although I'd be extremely embarrassed, I'd be less embarrassed than if what I was wearing was see through.

2. Go to a party and not realise that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued?
Lipstick on my teeth because I think less people would notice that whereas if my eyelash was coming off, it could be seen from more angles and from a further distance.

3. Forget to put mascara on one eye or blush on one side of your face?
Blush because I naturally blush a lot anyway so I'm sure it will balance it out a bit more where as I have no chance of getting away with it if I forget to put mascara on one eye.

4. Wear lipstick/lipliner combo or frosty blue eyeshadow?
Some people can really pull of a lipstick/lipliner combo but I don't think I am one of those people so I'd say frosty blue eyeshadow which hopefully would compliment my blue eyes and wouldn't look terrible!

5. Wear foundation that is two shades too light or go way overboard on bronzer?
Foundation that is two shades too light which I can then attempt to correct with bronzer, blusher and powder on top.

6. Drink an entire bottle of ketchup or run into the guy who broke your heart on a bad hair day when your skin is freaking out?
This is a terrible one as I don't like ketchup in the first place and so the thought of drinking a whole bottle, makes me want to throw up. For that reason, I'm going to have to go for the latter option, however awful that would be.

7. Be able to date any celebrity you want or wake up with red carpet-worthy hair?
Easy; date any celebrity I want because although I wouldn't actually want to date a celebrity as I'd hate the extra attention and pressure I'd be under, it would mean I could date George Shelley which I think we all know is an option I would choose over many things.

8. Your armpits smell musty or like delicious lasagne?
Lasagne- I love lasagne so I quite like the smell and although I wouldn't want to smell of it myself, I'd rather smell of that than smell musty.

9. Give up your make up or phone for a year?
Make up. As much as I love make up, I could not give up my phone for a year, where as giving up make up would probably end up benefiting my skin anyway.

10. Run into a guy you like with food all over you or no makeup at all?
No make up because if you liked them and it went somewhere, he'd probably end up seeing you without make up on at some point anyway; might as well get it over with however uncomfortable I'd feel.

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed finding out a few more random things about me. If anyone wants to try this tag for themselves, leave me a comment below when you've done it and I'll be sure to check it out.
